Engineered Double Jacquard Air Mesh
A new engineered Air Mesh upper of the Ghost 16 provides both flexibility and breathability to compliment the natural movements of your foot and increase air flow during exercise.
A padded tongue sits comfortably against the skin to ensure optimum comfort as well as prevent irritation and rubbing while the traditional lacing system provides a secure, locked-in feel as you run.
Completing the upper are reflective details on the heel which enhance visibility in low-light conditions.

DNA LOFT V3 Midsole
Utilising new DNA LOFT v3 technology, the midsole of the Ghost 16 has more of this super-soft, nitrogen-infused cushioning to maximise softness. The DNA LOFT v3 cushioning moulds itself to the shape of the underfoot, allowing the platform to fully support the curvature of the underfoot. Having this cushioning and support helps to lessen the impact placed upon your joints as well as attenuate shock, minimising the potential risk of injury or discomfort.
In addition, a Segmented Crash Pad adds further cushioning and comfort by adapting to each footfall for a smooth, responsive ride to give you the confidence to run at your maximum level knowing you have ample cushioning to guide you through the gait cycle with optimal efficiency.

Review
Our new parkrun ambassador, Emma, has tried and tested the Ghost 16 at a few different parkruns. Here are her thoughts...
Brooks were kind enough to send me a pair of their latest update of the Ghost range to try out. Being an avid parkrunner I decided to test them out at a couple of different courses to put them through their paces.
The Ghost 16 are an everyday road running or walking shoe, which has nitrogen infused DNA LOFT V3 cushioning for a soft and smooth ride. They also boast a new lightweight RoadTack rubber outsole for traction in all conditions. Which all sounds great, but how does that feel on a 5km run around the park?
Well, I found them comfortable straight out of the box, which is exactly what you want from an everyday shoe. The upper feels plush but breathable. Their first outing was at Burnage parkrun, which is on tarmac and trail paths. I like to visit different courses every week so I need a shoe that can handle different conditions underfoot. The Ghosts are perfect for this, with a good balance between cushioning and responsiveness. They handled the transition from tarmac to trail with no problems which is a huge bonus for me!
After a couple of midweek runs pounding the pavements I was still impressed with how comfortable these shoes are. Then it was parkrun day again, and I headed to Harrogate to try the Ghosts on a grass and tarmac course. They still felt great despite it being a little bit muddy, and had good traction despite the damp conditions. It's worth noting that I only wear trail specific shoes when it's extremely muddy as I usually prefer to wear road shoes and have a walk if it gets too slippery. parkrun is very much about moving at your own pace and enjoying it!
Brooks are the official shoe partner of parkrun, and the Ghost 16s would be a great shoe whether you're running, walking or even volunteering. So why not check out one of the Brooks try on events and see what you think? Just be prepared to want to keep them!
