Flat knit upper

Featuring an engineered flat knit upper for reinforcement and support where it is needed. The Hoka Skyward X offers a secure fit that hugs the foot for optimum comfort and flexibility, whilst remaining highly breathable. A gusseted tongue provides you with a lightweight mid-foot lockdown ensuring that your feet remain in place while extra cushioning around the ankle keeps you comfortable, providing you with optimal comfort whilst you're on the go. An extended heel pull tab has been designed for further comfort and to assist in putting the shoes on and lastly, a traditional lacing system locks the midfoot to prevent excessive movement.

This shoe features recycled content in the upper material and laces.

Dual density midsole

The HOKA Skyward X utilises a PEBA foam midsole to provide you with a more lively, cushioned, responsive ride. The foam adapts to your stride and provides you with a great balance of support and flexibility and also helps to reduce injury by cushioning your landing. An SC EVA base protects the PEBA element of the midsole and provides additional stability.

Featuring a revolutionary suspension system, which includes a bowed carbon fibre plate, with reinforced plate arms for a smoother transition throughout the gait cycle. The carbon plate minimises energy loss, increases propulsion and delivers an abundance of structural support, making running feel effortless and giving you the confidence to reach new PBs. A super critical EVA rocker frame is specifically designed with a low heel-to-toe drop to create a rocking chair-style effect to encourage a guided gait cycle for a faster toe-off and a deep active foot frame cradles the heel for a secure ride.

High abrasion durable rubber outsole

Designed to be flexible and durable, the outsole of the Hoka Skyward X has been constructed using durable rubber, with increased zonal rubber coverage than its predecessors. Strategically placed on high-wear areas such as the forefoot and heel, the rubber increases durability and will help keep you in firm control. Completing the outsole are flex grooves that encourage multi-directional movements.

About HOKA

HOKA is the brainchild of two gravity sports enthusiasts Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud. Both men have been adventuring for as long as they can remember, and their trail running experiences have taken them across the globe.

Both Jean-Luc and Nicolas are committed to the values of freedom and enjoyment and feel that this is part of to the running experience whether running on the trail or in the city. With this in mind they started to look at the variables that affected the performance of different types of runners.

They quickly came to an important conclusion; fatigue, impacts and muscle strains were challenges that runners of all stripes had to deal with every day. So Jean-Luc and Nicolas came up with a brilliant idea, why not design a shoe that would help to alleviate these problems - so that freedom and enjoyment could be guaranteed every time you go running!

From that idea HOKA was born. The word HOKA is derived from the ancient Maori language and roughly translated to "now it is time to fly". That's just how it feels to run in a pair of HOKA shoes; with each and every step, your foot flies.

Today's runners from around the world are learning about the benefits of HOKA, they have been used by marathon winners. 50 miles, 100 miles and even 2000+ miles ultra-runners as well as runners just like you or I, who want to enjoy running, perform at their peak and feel that important sense of freedom whilst maintaining top physical performance and protecting against shocks, jolts and injuries.
