One of the best-selling running shoes of all time has had an upgrade; say hello to the new Mizuno Wave Rider 27.

Now 5g lighter than its predecessor, it also features an extra 2mm of cushioning in the midsole for even softer landings. While maintaining the comfortable characteristics of the Wave Rider 26, the heel structure of the new upper has been revamped to provide a seamless upper fit that gently wraps around the entire foot.

Available in a range of different colours, including the option of a wider fit, the Mizuno Wave Rider 27 is a shoe for everyone, for every run.

• MIZUNO WAVE plate technology combines cushioning and stability with a propulsive feeling and support for smooth transitions.

• Manufactured from Pebax Rnew, the Wave's sustainable construction spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving concrete, whilst answering to the environmental awareness of its consumers.

• The X10 outsole provides durability and traction. This extremely substantial carbon rubber allows for longer wear in high impact areas and provides more traction at the heel strike so you can run hard, knowing that your shoes can handle the heat.

So, what's new?

• An updated Jacquard Mesh Upper which creates a smoother fit. This redesign features a 3D PU print for a strategic hold and fit, gently enveloping the foot.

• In addition to this, the upper uses Mizuno's Dynamotion Fit. This system uses highly advanced motion capture and biomechanics technology to provide a supreme fit. This will mean that as your foot moves through the gait cycle, the shoe will work with your unique movement, accommodating the whole process comfortably.

• A redesigned heel counter ensures balance and comfort through a better fit around the calcaneus.

• It's even lighter than its predecessor, as the weight has been reduced by 5 grams.
