Landing a strikingly fast racing shoe, On have revolutionized the fast-running experience with an innovative, ultra-responsive drop-in midsole which is tailored to marathon racing with the Cloudboom Strike.

The On Cloudboom Strike is a revolutionary piece of tech that is tailored to bring the ultimate balance of speed and comfort for marathon racing. Featuring a generous stack height that is light in weight with a blend of On's Helium Hyperfoam and Cloudtech channel system, the Cloudboom Strike intends to beat the competition on race day.

Unique drop-in midsole construction

One of the stand out pieces of tech in the Cloudboom Strike is the midsole that is uniquely removable to be able to drop in and out of the shoe. Rather than gluing two pieces of foam together, with a carbon plate sandwiched in the middle, On have employed a midsole that comprises a thick layer of Helion HF foam (removable) which sits on top of the carbon plate embedded into the bottom layer of Helium HF.

This means that after removing the midsole from the shoe, you have a clear view of the carbon plate embedded into that bottom Helium HF layer.

The reason for this tech is to be able to maximise the stack height of the bottom HF, delivering optimal energy return and efficiency within the stack height regulations of racing.

Carbon fibre Speedboard®

On's signature Speedboard®found in the Cloudboom Strike is stiff and spoon-shaped in design and works like a spring to transfer energy into the forefoot for the most powerful take-offs possible.

Perhaps less visibly On in design, the usual standout CloudTec® elements are more compressed and built in to the midsole which helps to optimise transitions and reduces the impact on the body.

Marathon tailored comfort

The upper is spanned by a one-piece (including the tongue) semi-transparent mesh material which aims to decrease overheating during marathons and maintains comfort and support in the process.

Complementing this, there is a reinforced cage system laminated on the inside in and around the collar for added support and structure.
