The Range Explained: Saucony Road 2024
We take a look at the 2024 Saucony Road Running range to give you an overall picture of their performance range and help you to choose the correct shoe.

1. CUSHIONED/NEUTRAL RANGE
Built for high mileage road running for the neutral runner. The general rule applies in the cushioning and support categories that the more you spend the more cushioning and as such protection you will get.

Saucony Kinvara Pro
For Daily Pro-Performance
Recently introduced to the range and sitting above the ever popular Kinvara 14, the Kinvara Pro offers a significantly higher stack at 42mm and a 3/4 length carbon plate which promotes a gentle roll. The only shoe sitting in the cushioned range to offer a carbon plate, this shoe would offer a more responsive option to a Triumph 21 / Ride 17 user.
At 269g it is suited to high mileage road training but also could be used for many who are doing ultra distances wanting a slightly more substantial shoes than the Endorphin Pro 4.

Saucony Triumph 22
For Premium Comfort
Traditionally sitting at the top of the cushioned high mileage road training range, version 22 continues the plush feel Triumph users will be accustomed to. Ever-so-slightly heavier than its predecessor, this neutral shoe still has the same 10mm drop and stack height to ensure premium levels of cushioning and comfort.

For Lightweight Performance & Cushioning
While sitting at a similar price to the Ride 17, the Kinvara offers a lighter package that may suit the lighter runner or someone wanting a more responsive shoe. This lightweight, ultra flexible model designed for those quicker shorter runs, tempo training and racing upto 10k.

2. SUPPORT/OVERPRONATION RANGE
Built with support for the over pronators among us who require some stability in the shoe, otherwise the same rule applies as with cushioning shoes that the more you spend the more cushioning you will get.

For Super-Fuelled Foam & Stability
Recently introduced to the range to replace the long standing Hurricane, the Tempus offers a revolutionary adaptive guidance system which allows for a significantly lighter shoe than more traditional support shoes. Sitting at the top of the support range this offers similar levels of cushioning to the Triumph 21 just with the additional support if you require it.

For Daily Training with Support
The latest iteration of the long standing Guide series this shoe offers mild pronation support coupled with cushioning suitable for high mileage road training. Effectively a Ride 17 with the additional pronation support. Go up the range to the Tempus if you want more cushioning than this, go to the Omni if you require higher levels of pronation support.

3. RACE READY RANGE
In recent years, Saucony’s Endorphin Race series has become a regular on podiums of major races across the globe, starting with the top of the range Endorphin Pro 4.
Please note: Race shoes are not ideal for all runners and the time savings that can be had from wearing them can be offset by the lack of cushioning or support they may offer. For example, someone running a 4-hour+ marathon will likely be more comfortable wearing their everyday mileage shoes. Also, race shoes, if used for everyday training, can be less durable and wear out faster.

For Elite Level Performance
Targeted at the elite runner looking for a carbon plated race day shoe for distances from 5k to marathon and beyond - train in a Triumph 21, race in a Pro 4.

For Everyday Speed & Racing
Differing from the top of the range Pro 4 largely in offering a nylon plate as opposed to the Pro 4’s carbon plate in the midsole for added propulsion. Still using PWRRUN PB responsive midsole foam, suitable for races from 5k to marathon distance. Marginally heavier than the Pro 4 but still light and fast enough for most.
