New shape and fits

INOV8 have developed a new foot-shaped fit featured in the TRAILFLY SPEED that hugs the natural contours of your foot, leaving you feeling comfortable and in control. It locks in the heel for confident strides and a secure fit that will see you through the toughest of trails, whilst a widened toe-box allows for toe splay, ensuring your feet and toes function naturally and reducing pressure. This maximises comfort levels and brings performance benefits as you focus on the trail ahead unhindered.

Incorporated in this new shape are two new fits - the TRAILFLY SPEED is available now in a Wide Fit for a wider toebox and comfort over longer distances, with a Standard Fit to follow shortly for an ultra-locked-in feel and extra agility.

Outstanding breathability

The TRAILFLY SPEED has been engineered for outstanding breathability. The upper is constructed with a single-piece air mesh material that swathes feet in fresh-feeling, cool comfort.

Light MET-CRADLE strips connect the midfoot to the heel, ensuring a locked-in, secure feel when you tighten your laces, and a gusseted tongue prevents any loose debris kicked up on the trail from slipping into your shoe and causing discomfort and distraction.

New cushioning

The new superlight POWERFLOW PRO foam midsole provides a responsive, bouncy, cushioned ride that feels amazing underfoot. It delivers cushioning comfort, high levels of propulsion and still allows for underfoot feel, helping you navigate tricky uneven terrain.

A new, lighter version of the 6mm thick BOOMERANG footbed features hundreds of expanded TPU beads that compress and spring back for more energy return and cushioning, providing greater returns on your output. The footed has also been updated to feature more perforations to help water easily evaporate and transfer out of the shoe for improved comfort. It's worth noting that the BOOMERANG footbed can be purchased separately, so you can replace it after a few months to provide extended life and cushioning.

Better protection

Speed over technical ground and sharp rocks knowing your feet are protected thanks to the addition of a flexible META-SHANK rock plate. The flexibility of the plate allows your feet to move and flex naturally, maintaining proprioception and ensuring you can still enjoy a feel for the terrain underneath.

At the front, a toe guard provides protection when you inevitably kick a rock out in the wilderness, so you can tear up the trails with maximum confidence.

Improved grip

The rugged outsole of the TRAILFLY SPEED is made from hard-wearing rubber infused with the world's strongest material - Graphene - for maximum durability. It has now been enhanced with more stickiness, helping increase grip on the trail so you stay in control.

Carefully positioned, newly shaped 4mm lugs chop through loose trail surfaces and provide excellent grip in wet and wild conditions, all whilst remaining super-durable. They are multi-directional for improved toe-spring when bounding uphill, enhanced heel-braking when flying downhill and shedding dirt and debris.

Underfoot flex grooves, including a new vertical one beside your big toe, give even more uphill spring, while bigger shaped lugs in high-wear areas further enhance the outsole’s lifespan.

Comparing the two TRAILFLY trail shoes

20 years in the making, the new 2024 TRAILFLY Series boasts the most exciting design enhancements in INOV8's history.

The two new shoes – TRAILFLY SPEED and TRAILFLY, share many of the same characteristics but also offer very different options for when running over hard-ground trails.

In short, the TRAILFLY SPEED is the Agile Speedster, lower in profile and built for faster runs and races.

The TRAILFLY is the Cushioned Rider, with more foam underfoot and built for longer runs and races.
