About the Race:

Are you ready to break free from the ordinary?

From the team that brought you Podium 5K and in partnership with British Orienteering, QUID GAMES: The Dark Edition is here to shake up the trail running world with a fast-paced, fun, and utterly unique orienteering race experience.

This isn’t your typical trail race—this is the next evolution of adventure running.

With SportsShoes at the helm, and top-tier sponsorship from Silva, Rab, SCARPA and OTE Sports Nutrition, this is going to be an event that completely disrupts the trail running scene.

The Concept:

Get ready for a race that’s equal parts thrill, strategy, and mystery. The Dark Edition challenges you to think on your feet and outpace the competition—all while navigating the stunning Broughton Hall Estate through an unpredictable series of checkpoints and surprises. It’s not just about crossing the finish line—it’s about how you play the game.
The clock’s ticking, and you’ll need every ounce of endurance to keep up with the twists and turns ahead.

The Athletes:

Anyone can enter Quid Games and it's the perfect chance to test your navigation skills against some of the very best orienteers, road, trail and mountain runners in the country.

Some of the elite athletes confirmed so far include;

GB orienteer and HOKA athlete Kris Jones, 2022 Sprint World Champion Megan Mitchell, 2023 British Sprint Champion Nathan Lawson, the current English Fell Running Champion Ben Rothery, GB Mountain Runner Sara Wilhoit, GB Trail Running legend Tom Adams and former junior GB Mountain Runner Georgia Malir.

Race Format:

60 minute score course - any control/ any order

Each control is worth 10 points - maximum score 100 points

Event Village:

The race will start and finish in our event village, with the opportunity for all entrants to test the latest Silva headtorches, Rab apparel, SCARPA footwear and products from OTE.

We will also be joined by North Pizza, arguably the best in the Yorkshire Dales! You can pre-order and enjoy your favourite pizza after the race!

Car parking and toilets are available on site.
