22.02.25: Henriette Albon and Caleb Olson, the new King and Queen of the Classic at The North Face Transgrancanaria 2025
Henriette Albon and Caleb Olson dominated their respective categories at the The North Face Transgrancanaria 2025 Classic. The race, which started at midnight on Friday at Las Canteras Beach, saw a thousand athletes leave the sand of the capital's beach behind to cover the 126 kilometres to Parque Sur in Maspalomas.
The first part of the race was carried out at a frenetic pace and with a level playing field rarely seen in an ultra-distance competition. In the women's category, Claudia Tremps started leading the race, until Henriette Albon, the eventual winner, gradually closed the gap. It was at the Tejeda crossing that the Norwegian began to open a lead and ended up crossing the finish line more than an hour ahead of the Catalan from the On Team team. 15:02:50 was the time taken by the 2025 champion, who will already leave her name in the history of The North Face Transgrancanaria, in the year she made her debut in this premier event. In second place, one hour and six minutes behind, was the aforementioned Claudia Tremps, while the Slovenian Martina Klancnik, always in the leading group, rounded out the podium.

In the men's category, there was also a clear dominator in Caleb Olson. The Nike Trail athlete broke the absolute record for the race by stopping the clock at 12:17:25. Despite the stratospheric time, The North Face runner Jonathan Albon only finished just eight minutes later. The bronze medal went to another runner from the North Face team, also British, Josh Wade, who also broke the 13 hour mark.
The extreme difficulty of the race caused several favourite riders to retire, such as Yngvild Kaspersen, Abel Carretero, Pau Capell, Borja Fernández and Miguel Heras.

In the women's category, the Swede Ida Nilsson, who arrived in Gran Canaria for the first time with an impressive list of achievements behind her, did not disappoint, dominating the race from the first kilometres and the first refreshment stop in Fontanales. She reached the finish line in Maspalomas with a time of 08:34:54. In second place was the Spanish Anna Tarasova, who despite being second throughout the race, never allowed the winner to get too far behind, putting in a great performance, finishing just five minutes behind the winner.
