Hoka Speedgoat 5 Trail Running Shoes
A workhorse designed for technical trails, the Speedgoat returns with less weight and more traction than ever before. A new shoe from outsole to laces, this trail beast is updated with Vibram Megagrip with Traction Lug for enhanced grip on loose soil. Retaining the same stack height and rocker profile, the Speedgoat 5 employs a lighter midsole compound and heartier, double-layer jacquard mesh to inspire confidence on any terrain.
Double-Layer Jacquard Engineered Mesh Upper
Upgraded from their predecessors, the Speedgoat 5 features a new and improved breathable mesh upper. This time around the Speedgoat employs mesh materials that are designed using recycled content for an extremely durable garment that will ensure you stay at an optimum temperature and comfort. Lightweight and breathable, the mesh allows cool air to flow through the shoe removing uncomfortable heat build-up and regulating internal temperature to create a healthy environment where feet can thrive. The fabrication hugs the foot offering lightweight support whilst strategically placed overlays across the midfoot help to lock the foot down, keeping you feeling secure and locked in for a stable and supportive fit. Ensuring much-needed support, the overlays also increase durability by protecting both the shoe and the foot from possible damage that may be encountered along the trail. Alongside this, the shoes have an exceptionally protective toe cap for shielding against hard knocks and bumps, and a lay-flat gusseted tongue has been added to provide next-to-skin comfort. This prevents any dirt or debris from entering, whilst also providing additional ventilation to your feet, for ultimate confidence with every stride. An extended heel tab assists in putting the shoes on easily while the traditional lacing system, with 100% recycled materials provides your feet with a locked-in, secure fit so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
Compression-Moulded EVA Midsole
A compression-moulded EVA foam has been used within the midsole of the Hoka Speedgoat 5 to ensure a cushioned and responsive ride. This specialised midsole material provides lightweight cushioning, even more so than its predecessor, which keeps your feet comfortable and supported as you move through uneven terrain. The lightweight foam is also highly responsive as it works to adapt to the ground beneath you and works to propel you forward as you move throughout the gait cycle. The light foam is ideal for this running shoe as it prevents the wearer from feeling weighed down and will keep you feeling light and quick on your feet. As well as this, the foam absorbs shock and impacts in key areas of the shoe and helps to stabilise the foot keeping you firmly on your feet. A late stage MetaRocker features on the Speedgoat 5 to provide you with a smooth ride on the trail. Completing the midsole is a moulded EVA sockliner which provides in-step comfort the moment you put the shoes on.
Vibram Megagrip Outsole
Completing the Speedgoat 5 is a Vibram Megagrip outsole that ensures traction and grip on varied terrain. This high-performance rubber compound provides you with an unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity, and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber can form a solid bond with the ground beneath it to ensure traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path. Zonal rubber placement ensures traction and grip where you need it the most whilst remaining lightweight so you can cut through tough terrain with ease. Furthermore, 5mm lugs adorn the outsole to provide flexible and sticky multi-directional traction as you tackle awkward ascents and daring descents. The lugs ensure additional support and stability so you can continue with complete confidence that your footwear will support any outdoor adventure.
