New Double Jacquard Mesh Upper
The upper of the 1080v9 is constructed with an engineered double jacquard mesh, offering increased airflow and keeping the feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable throughout every run. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire construction, providing a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air. Now you can feel secure with a maximum stretch as the upper holds onto the foot, moving perfectly with every step you take. In addition, a bootie construction and a no-sew material application eliminate distractions by reducing the chances of irritation and discomfort.
For step-in comfort, an Ortholite insole is added to create a cooler, drier and healthier foot environment while the plush collar construction ensures additional comfort for the foot and ankle. The New Balance 1080v9 features a new ultra heel construction which is used to reinforce the heel of the shoe and increase support. This construction is used for a more precise and comfortable fit and reduces the amount of in shoe movement which in turn reduces irritation and discomfort.
Fresh Foam Midsole
The 1080v9 is fitted with a full length award-winning Fresh Foam cushioning technology. Laser-engraved fresh foam features cushioning that's more substantial than it's predecessors, providing a lower, more natural underfoot feel. This helps benefit running on hard terrain such as roads, as it reduces the pressure placed on the foot and minimises the chance of injury or strain placed upon the body. The midsole is also able to follow the natural bending on the foot, allowing the feet to move comfortably in a range of directions.
Blown Rubber Outsole
Equipped with Blown Rubber throughout the outsole, it will increase cushioning, responsiveness and durability. The multi-directional lugs on the outsole will improve grip on the road while pressure-mapping colours on the outsole indicate zones of impact. The darker the colour the more impact pressure occurs, therefore, the rubber needs to be more dense and robust, whereas the lighter the colour the less impact pressure occurs, therefore, the rubber can be softer and more grippy. Finishing off the shoe is the newly designed flex grooves on the outsole which will help to generate a soft landing with a more fluid ride, keeping you going mile after mile.
