Nike Zoom Javelin Elite 2 Track Spikes
The Unisex Nike Zoom Javelin Elite 2 Track Spike is asymmetrically designed for javelin-specific movements and delivers tailored support and flexibility exactly where you need it.
Synthetic Upper
The upper of the Zoom Javelin Elite 2 has been constructed using a synthetic material to provide equal measures of comfort, resilience and durability to help improve and optimise performance. Mesh panels are located on the side of the shoe to increase airflow and improve circulation to create a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. Additionally, excess sweat and moisture is quickly eradicated to keep your feet cool and composed.
A collar on the left foot is situated higher for added stability and control while a lower collar on the right foot provides ankle mobility to help maximise motion in all directions. An adjustable forefoot strap enables you to find the optimum fit, meeting individual requirements which can be adjusted thanks to the hook-and-loop closure. Once the strap is fastened, the design increases lockdown for a more secure fit which is crucial to a sport such as javelin.
Further comfort and durability is provided by a TPU toe-cap, protecting the feet from abrasion and guarding against toe-drag, friction and any unwanted debris causing damage. The toe cap on the drag helps stop runway momentum before take-off, meaning you are fully in control when releasing the javelin. This helps to deliver a more solid base when throwing, ensuring you are well balanced and enabling increased performance in the process. A carbon fibre midfoot shank supports torsional rigidity for further control and support when throwing.
Pebax Outsole
A full-length Pebax spike plate is situated on the outsole and contains 11 spike receptacles to offer exceptional grip and traction. Having a large number of spikes will help to give you the assured footing required to maintain balance and control when throwing the javelin. Assisting the Pebax spike plate are flex grooves which allow your foot to move more naturally, giving a range of motion in all directions as well as flexibility to help the foot to splay.
**You don't want to feel your toe cramped up against the front of the shoe. A spike should feel like it was meant for your foot, a little more snug than a training shoe feels so we would recommend half a size up on normal shoes**
