Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid Winter Waterproof Women's Walking Boots
Designed to power through uphills and descents, the X ULTRA is an all-winter version. Just as agile as a trail-running shoe, the X Ultra 4 offers stability, grip and protection, to tackle wintery terrain and cold conditions.
ClimaSalomon and Thinsulate Upper
Preparing you for all the wintery conditions ahead, the X Ultra 4 Winter Boots have a range of technologies to keep your feet warm and protected. The upper construction of these boots has a ClimaSalomon Waterproof fabric, a flexible, lightweight, fully waterproof material that ensures you have complete weather protection. These materials keep feet dry even when the weather takes a turn. Not only this but the main leather construction is treated using water repellent properties, for additional protection, ensuring that the fabric does not absorb water during light showers. Alongside this, is a warm, thin, light and breathable 200g Thinsulate Insulation lining, recommended for cold conditions, or during high activity levels when you're generating a lot of body heat. The faux fur lining works alongside this, to keep feet cosy and warm inside the shoes, whilst also being wonderfully soft for added comfort. A gusseted tongue, which is connected to the upper, prevents dirt and debris from entering the shoes and keeping the tongue centred. Completing the uppers of the X Ultra 4 Winter Boots is a traditional lace-up system with eyelets, which works to keep the foot locked in and secure, whilst ensuring in-shoe slippage is prevented.
EnergyCell Midsole
Providing you with exceptional shock attenuation, the boots have a high-performing EVA Foam midsole, EnergyCell. When attenuating shocks, the EnergyCell compound, therefore, prevents damage being caused to your feet, whilst also providing you rebound to keep you going mile after mile. Alongside this, is a moulded EVA sockliner, which works to mimic the foot's natural shape, supplying your feet with cushioning and comfort throughout your journey. Designed for cold temperatures, the midsole has an extra winter sockliner, featuring a 4mm layer of EVA foam for increased insulation, and has a soft cover for increased comfort.
Winter Contragrip Outsole
Providing you grip and traction on varied terrain is a unique Winter Contragrip compound on the outsole of the X Ultra 4 Winter Boots. This construction thrives under icy and colder conditions. Multidirectional lugs are provided to deliver enhanced grip and traction on a range of surfaces, for greater control. The outsole also has a gaiter hook for when you need additional protection. An advanced Chassis works alongside this, by providing strong lateral support and reassuring protection whilst also delivering you an optimal level of mobility and flexibility.
