The North Face VE 25 Tent
If your rope team is comprised of three then you need the VE 25. It's The North Face's premier three-person tent, designed for expeditions and tested by their team of athletes in extreme conditions.
This tent helps make those overnight adventures a little easier. The rainfly and canopy are made from breathable, durable nylon with a ripstop weave in the canopy and a water-resistant finish on the fly and floor to keep you dry. DAC poles and stakes are exceptionally strong for their weight and the design itself helps to withstand powerful winds. It's easy to pitch, even when the weather isn't behaving, thanks to a combination of pole sleeves and clips. Dual entry (on poled front vestibule) comes in pretty handy when snow and wind create snow drifts at one end of the tent. And once you're in, there's plenty of storage space (8 internal pockets plus stuff pockets for doors), including hanger loops for damp clothing and a large vestibule for bigger packs. Colour-coded zip pulls glow in the dark and the high-strength guylines (with equalizers at multiple attachment points) are reflective, so you can find your way home after a long day on the wall. Pitching in snow is not a problem either, as four snow stakes are included and if winds turn gale force, there are welded reinforcements at critical points in the fly sheet. And if your trip isn't about one basecamp, it's relatively light at 4.82kg (fast pack weight is just 2.96kg) so you can take it on the move.
High-low venting with multiple venting options throughout keeps you at optimal temperature. For versatility, the tent has a fly-only pitching option and to shave weight and reduce chemicals it has been made without a flame-retardant coating. The fully taped, cut-in nylon bucket floor provides added structural strength and the port window has been cold-crack tested to -60°F/-51°C.
