Under Armour HOVR Dark Sky Ridge Trail Running Shoes
Built to run better on the toughest terrain, New Balance used a Vibram LiteBase outsole for a super-durable, flexible feel and high-traction lugs to grip any surface.
Mesh Upper
The upper of the HOVR DS Ridge is made from a dynamic, reinforced mesh for durability and breathability. Micro-perforations allow built-up heat and vapour to escape, whilst encouraging fresh air to flow in for a pleasant cooling sensation. It offers lightweight, rugged protection, and strategic 3D overlays help lockdown the foot and provide further security. A traditional lacing system helps anchor the shoe to the foot, giving greater stability, security and control.
UA HOVR Midsole
UA HOVR technology resides in the midsole to supply a zero-gravity feel. The wax-based foam, which is incredibly strong and resilient, holds a super-soft durometer that offers incredible shock attenuation for every single foot strike. This cushy construction needs to be contained to serve its purpose, so Under Armour wraps it in a compression mesh Energy Web. The Energy Web contains and moulds to the cushioning core to deliver strong responsiveness and energy return. UA's winning combination of advantages yields a ride that allows runners to perform better with less fatigue. The soft centre helps to spare your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces, and its mesh web encasement increases responsiveness, reducing your use of superfluous muscle power to keep your legs feeling fresh for the trail ahead.
Vibram Outsole
Complete control is guaranteed with the Vibram outsole, which will anchor your feet in position for supreme grip. The rubber is able to cling to wet and dry surfaces, which will mean that you won't be slipping or sliding around on the trails. It will also make you feel confident that there are no boundaries when you are off-road. The rubber is extremely tough on the surface, and it will protect itself from any damage, as it is abrasion-resistant. This will improve the lifespan and long-term functionality of the shoes. The shoes have deep lugs which will again provide you with complete control by anchoring your feet to the ground. This is especially useful when running on wet ground, as the lugs will dig into the surface, providing an extremely solid base to push on from, as well as helping to control landings and changes of direction. High-impact zones on the outsole will provide targeted protection to especially vulnerable areas of the outsole that have the most contact and weight placed against it.
