GORE-TEX Upper
For ultimate performance and outstanding in-shoe comfort, the St. Elias features a full-grain leather upper, which is super durable and long-lasting, for a reliable companion. The durable materials allow you and the boots to remain shielded from knocks, bashes and bumps on the constantly changing trail. The full-grain leather has been oiled and waxed to add greater protection, making it more resistant to dirt on your trails. The comfortable materials ensure feet remain warm as well as, provide immediate out-of-the-box cosiness due to the leather's ability to yield an easier break-in. Featuring a GORE-TEX waterproof lining, the St. Elias keeps feet dry and fresh during wet and constantly changing weather conditions. The materials have quick-drying properties to stop the growth of sweat and moisture, keeping feet fresh and allowing you to focus on the journey ahead. The boots are designed on a summit last, meaning they have a classic hiking shape and a rockered toe box alongside a positive lock heel pocket, for a secure feel. A 33% bio-based soft collar and tongue foam keep feet feeling cosy and reduce the risks of irritation or chafing during long trips. 80% recycled content laces provide feet with a locked-in, secure fit and prevent slipping from occurring within the boots.
EVA Midsole
The St. Elias features a dual-density EVA midsole compound for keeping feet soft and cushioned during long and short hiking adventures. To keep feet fresh and ready for the journey ahead, the boots feature shock-absorbing properties that reduce impact when hitting tough and constantly changing terrain, helping to prevent injury and discomfort. This keeps feet fresh and maintains energetic, bouncy strides by returning energy with each step, resulting in powerful and springy movements. Working with this, a 20% recycled content insole board adds extra cushioning and keeps feet extremely comfortable, while over time will mould to the shape of your foot, for a personalised and specific fit. Finally, a 15% glass fibre nylon shank adds support and stability to your hiking by keeping your ankle stable, reducing the risks of twisting across uneven terrain.
Vasque Vibram Megagrip Outsole
Keeping you stable and secure on the constantly changing terrains of your hiking endeavours, the boots utilise a Vasque exclusive Vibram Megagrip outsole. The outsole has exceptional friction levels, similar to that of the Vibram Idrogrip, however with 50% more abrasion resistance, ensuring durability and supporting you in facing the challenges of the terrain ahead. Adorning the outsole of the St. Elias is a multi-directional lug system that provides outstanding grip and digs deep onto wet and often soggy ground for optimum reliability.
