Crafted from Yamamoto Smoothskin neoprene, these shorts aid with buoyancy, helping you into a more horizontal position for improved form. But, with reduced thickness from the original model, they offer less overall buoyancy so that you can take a more active role in making your body horizontal as you progress, meaning you rely less on aids and build strength. This concept has helped thousands of swimmers to improve their swim technique and speed. 2mm neoprene down the centre and 3mm neoprene on the sides provide a flexible, lightly buoyant fit. Swimming in a wetsuit is different to traditional swimming as the main power comes from your arms and your body and legs are used to keep you in control of your direction etc, these shorts allow you to practice your open water swimming technique in a pool where a wetsuit would either be too hot or banned by the lifeguard. The shorts can even be used in open water and competitions as an alternative to a wetsuit when the water is warm enough.
