Inov8 Oroc 280 V3 Trail Running Shoes
This spiked trail shoe from Inov8 provides an abundance of grip and traction for various activities and adventures. The tungsten carbide metal spikes on the outsole dig into ice and frozen ground, while also holding firm on rock and all other unpredictable terrains.
Inov8 Shoe Fit Scale
For technical footwear, a good fit is essential to enhance your performance. Inov8's new Shoe Fit Scale makes it easier to find the perfect fitting shoe. All Inov8 shoes are designed with Met-Cradle technology to lock down the mid-foot for a stable hold, where they differ is in the toe box. The shoes are now graded from 1 to 5, Grade 1 representing their closest, most precise fit and Grade 5 representing the widest fitting toe box.
The lower the number on the scale, the narrower the fit, which ensures minimal internal movement of the foot when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with the higher numbers on the scale will suit athletes with a wider foot and those wanting that extra comfort in the toe box. This wider toe box allows the toes to splay for increased stability when lifting heavy weights. It's also perfect for longer runs and races when toes begin to swell.
Inov8 have graded the Oroc 280 V3 Trail Running Shoes as Grade 1.
Ballistic Nylon Upper

A durable rand wraps around the shoe's ballistic nylon upper and the addition of a toe bumper both ensure outstanding protection against typical trail running debris. The upper also boasts a synthetic mesh material, offering a vital source of breathability and comfort. Furthermore, the mesh material also promotes an effective moisture-management system by wicking away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture, leaving your feet cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance. A padded tongue sits comfortably against the skin, preventing friction and irritation such as chafing while the traditional lacing system offers a secure, locked-in fit and feel as you move. Powerflow Midsole
The midsole for the Inov8 Oroc 280 V3 is set with a PowerFlow compound for resilient cushioning with maximum memory retention. The active compound reduces resistance and forces pressed upon the underfoot, engaging a smooth stride through transition and over uneven grounds and delivers increased shock absorption and energy return. Offering a cushioned ride, the PowerFlow midsole provides 10% better shock absorption and 15% better energy return than standard midsoles, allowing you to run harder for longer.
Metal Carbide Spike Outsole
Each tungsten metal carbide spike sits in the middle of an 8mm deep rubber stud, and as the outsole hits the terrain the spike protrudes from the stud to deliver maximum traction. This ensures a firm, assured footing across the unpredictable and uneven terrain. Ideally suited to severe off-road terrain, the outsole also performs at an exceptionally high level on slippery ice and frozen ground should you want to broaden your adventures even further. In addition, increased reinforcement is provided by a Protec-Plate, aligned above the spikes to give underfoot impact protection. There is a total of 18 spikes in a pair of Oroc 280 shoes.
