Nubuck Leather Upper
Constructed using eco-friendly terracare, nubuck leather, the Mercury IV Mid is light and stable whilst giving you the protection of any hiking boot. The Terracare leather has been uniquely produced using state-of-the-art methods with minimal water use and the electricity which has been used to construct this boot is from renewable energy sources. This soft Terracare leather has been treated with GORE-TEX, making the boots completely waterproof and highly breathable. Allowing sweat to escape through the tongue, the GORE-TEX will keep your feet well-insulated, cool and dry. The elastic GORE-TEX tongue construction ensures that water can't get in from the top, and keeps all parts of your feet well-protected in wet weather. A 3D Memofoam has been added through the lining of the garment, providing you additional comfort with the walking boots contouring perfectly to your feet, allowing you to make these boots your own.
EVA Midsole
Mammut have utilised an EVA midsole in the Mercury IVs providing you with excellent cushioning throughout. They have strategically mapped out a variety of dense EVA in the midsole of the boots giving you the correct amount of support throughout key areas. The layer which resides under the toe offers the sensitivity you need to keep the forefoot well protected. Memofoam insole is also present through the midsole, ensuring you have more of an individual fit, and excellent cushioning for the feet at the instep, shin and ankle giving you a plush feel.
Vibram Outsole
The Mercury VI Mid GORE-TEX have a Vibram compound present through the outsole of these boots. This is an exceptional source of stability and grip for your feet, providing you with an optimum level of sure-footedness on day hikes. The flexible properties of the outsole allow feet to move comfortably and naturally, whereas the grippy nature of the sole provides you with the traction necessary on ever-changing terrain.
