Engineered Mesh Upper

Keeping feet comfortable on tricky and changing trail running endeavours, the Nova 4 utilises a breathable engineered mesh upper. The materials provide feet with a constant level of cool, fresh air, which flows around your feet to prevent them from becoming uncomfortable or too hot, for focused runs, so you're ready to tackle every hurdle. TPU fabrics are super durable and reliable, providing long-lasting comfort, with abrasive resistance against bumps and scapes across rock surfaces or bumpy sections of the trail. Keeping things snug and secure on trails, the materials are supportive with flexible properties to allow natural, comfortable movement, whilst a 100% recycled breathable mesh lining sits softly against your skin and keeps things fresh. Moisture-wicking properties assist in keeping feet at their most comfortable by removing excess sweat and moisture that often builds up, ensuring you remain dry, even during the more tricky periods. Treated with Cleansport NXT, the Nova 4's naturally reduce the build-up of unwanted odours, keeping feet smelling and feeling fresher on long journeys. Keeping you stable and secure across those unpredictable trails, the shoes feature a padded collar to prevent irritation during movement and a bellows tongue which also helps to keep dirt and debris out. The recycled laces and webbing provide a more personalised, locked-in fit, reducing the amount of in-shoe slipping for confident strides. Finally, the elastic lace keeper stashes the laces away neatly to prevent them from getting in your way when running.

FloaPro Foam Midsole

For soft, reliable comfort, the Nova 4 utilises a FloatPro foam midsole compound, to keep feet bouncy and feeling fresh from start to finish. The medium-density midsole is super versatile and delivers long-lasting lightweight cushioning, with excellent energy return to prepare you to tackle those longer-distance adventures. Additionally, the midsole has shock-absorbing properties to reduce impact from striking down on tricky, uneven terrain and help reduce the risks of injury. Merrell's signature FlexConnect technology has been used within the midsole to ensure enhanced ground connection. FlexConnect's dual-directional flex grooves ensure a secure fit and a natural and serious grip to deliver agility and stability on any terrain. Working alongside this, the midsole features a 50% recycled removable EVA foam footbed for added cushioning.
