Smooth Stretch Upper
Offering feet with a comfortable smooth stretch-woven upper construction, the Wave Daichi 8 keeps feet feeling prepared for every part of your trail. The uppers provide a sock-like comforting fit, to not only keep feet secure but also keep them protected from the trail ahead. Not only this, but the materials will provide you with a soft and fluid fit due to the horizontally stretching nature. The fabrics will allow cool, fresh air to surround your feet, preventing discomfort and overheating from occurring. The shoes have a traditional lacing system to allow you to adjust the fit, ensuring that your feet remain locked in, preventing in-shoe slippage and supplying feet with a great anchor.
U4icX Midsole
Providing an excellent level of cushioning and high rebound, the Wave Daichi utilise a U4icX foam midsole which helps to ensure a soft landing and a strong take-off. Working alongside this, a U4ic compound provides high comfort and performance, while being extremely lightweight while Mizuno ENERZY delivers excellent softness and rebound next to being very durable. The shoes also feature Mizuno's Wave Technology for enhanced stability and a spring effect. The wave technology works to absorb the shock of heel striking and once absorbed, the energy is harnessed and is then transferred to the forefoot to push you off and guide you onto the next movement. The Wave also provides dynamic support to stabilise and guide the foot forward. Additionally, the shoes have a protective rock plate located in the forefoot to offer optimal protection against rocks and debris without needing to add extra weight.
Vibram Megagrip Outsole
Constructed from Vibram Megagrip rubber, the outsole of the Wave Daichi delivers exceptional traction and grip across a multitude of surfaces. Not only this, but the outsole is highly durable and enhances the longevity of the shoes, therefore providing you with a pair of shoes you can rely on throughout. The outsole provides 30% more vertical grip and 20% more lateral grip than conventional Vibram soles. Working in tandem with the outsole, multi-directional lugs provide you with the level of support and traction needed on technical trails. This concept encompasses deep lugs and grooves to help adapt and work in perfect harmony, getting the best possible results on unpredictable trails. Smoothride technology completes the outsole and works the moment your foot touches the ground to minimise the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition, creating the smoothest ride possible.
