Breathable Upper
A breathable mesh surrounds upper of the Coast Ultra, which will allow a constant airflow in and out of the shoe. This will mean that as you begin to exercise, the warm muggy air inside the shoe is able to escape out. Once removed, it is replaced by cooler air from outside, and this constant cycle will work to keep you feeling cool. The mesh upper is sleek and will fit snugly around the feet. In addition to this, around the ankle the shoe will provide a sock-like bootie fit, achieving a soft and comfortable. Thicker coverage over the toes and heel will provide support and protection from bumps and knocks. The traditional lacing system will allow you to find a secure and comfortable fit. Carrying your shoes around with you will be easy and clean with the heel loop. The shoe uses an NB Comfort Insert a soft insole which will over time provide personalised cushioning as well as moisture management.
CUSH+ Midsole
Lightweight cushioning is guaranteed in the Coast, as the midsole uses New Balance's developed CUSH+ midsole. A revolutionary plush foam compound that's at least 13% softer than lightweight performance foams, CUSH+ offers responsive cushioning and comfort without sacrificing durability or stability. The EVA towards the top of the midsole is soft, and on every step, it will compress to provide you with cushioning that will guarantee comfort all day. As well as this, the midsole material thickens and toughens towards the bottom, which will absorb all shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing injuries to the feet and joints. The midsole is also extremely responsive, and energy created in the gait cycle will give you an extra spring in your step.
Durable EVA Outsole
On the outsole of the shoe, there are durable rubber pods built in to provide everyday practicality. This will mean that there will be targeted grip in vulnerable areas, which will secure you into place and provide supreme traction. The rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which will protect abuse from below. This will increase the lifespan of the shoe, as it will look after itself over the long-term. Multi-directional grooves on the outsole will further anchor and connect the shoe with the ground, providing a solid base for takeoffs, braking and changes of direction.
