GORE-TEX Upper
Get out into nature regardless of the weather thanks to GORE-TEX Invisible Fit technology providing enhanced breathability and wind and waterproof protection. It combines true fit, feel, and comfort with the 'GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY' promise. GORE-TEX Invisible Fit technology bonds the GORE-TEX lining directly to the mesh upper, removing extra layers for lighter weight and enhanced breathability. The mesh fabric is highly ventilated, allowing air to flow through with ease, helping to keep feet fresh. The padded cuff and tongue sit comfortably against the skin and a traditional lacing system helps you lock in the fit. The heel loop helps make on/off easy, perfect for when you want to get out and get at it. TPU hotmelt overlays in key areas and a TPU reinforced toe-cap provide added support and durability. These shoes are built on a gender-specific last to address the anatomical nuances between different types of feet.
ACTEnergy Midsole
Engineered for agile performance and comfort, the Katabatic uses Oboz proprietary ACTEnergy cushioning system. It is a compression moulded EVA formulated for moving quickly on the trail - providing a lightweight cushioned ride that is both responsive and resilient. It attenuates shock as you strike down to protect your joints and muscles and converts that into forward propulsion to keep feet feeling fresh and energised. Atop this an O FIT Insole with Ortholite Eco Originals and Hybrid Eco contents provides step-in comfort - with a fully recycled moisture wicking top layer to help feet stay cool and dry. The O Fit insole has a deep cushioning heel cup with sculpted arch support, helping provide anatomical support. Triple-density EVA throughout provides both cushioning and durability, and cushioning pods under the metatarsals and heel add extra protection to high-strike zones.
Trail Tread Outsole
The shoe features Oboz proprietary Trail Tread outsole. It is more than just a rubber compound. Combining end-use driven design elements with specific rubber formulations, Trail Tread outsoles are engineered to meet the variable demands of different environments and trail conditions. They form a solid bond with the ground beneath for advanced grip and traction on mixed terrain. The outsole lug pattern bites into earth to help you gain purchase on muddier terrain and they are shaped to shed dirt with ease.
