Nubuck Leather Upper

The VECTIV Exploris FUTURELIGHT has been constructed using a Nubuck Leather Upper to add durability and stability, whilst protecting feet on hiking journeys. The leather has also been ethically sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-Certified tanneries, to build a more sustainable future with responsible leather. The North Face's signature FUTURELIGHT technology has been used throughout the construction of the upper. FUTURELIGHT is an industry-leading advanced technology that is rigorously tested to withstand the harshest weather conditions whilst providing enhanced breathability. The membrane and unique laminating process take lightweight waterproof breathability to a new level; the technology works to keep your feet dry, cool and comfortable at all times by creating airflow and keeping water out. The waterproof membrane protects your feet in the harshest rainstorms and allows your feet to breathe when temperatures begin to rise. By allowing cool air to flow throughout the upper, FUTURELIGHT technology creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in so you can go further for longer in complete comfort. To further add protection, the integrated protective toe cap, rand, and heel overlays increase structure and support to keep you going on tough terrain. Alongside this, the mesh collar with moulded detailing provides additional support and stability. Completing the upper is a lacing system that locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

VECTIV 2.0 Midsole

Designed to maximise energy on the trails, the midsole has been constructed using The North Face's revolutionary VECTIV 2.0 technology. The VECTIV system works to provide you with more energy return by reducing fatigue and helping you prepare for the next stride. VECTIV technology minimises energy loss, increases propulsion, and delivers an abundance of structural support making movements feel effortless and giving you the confidence to endure every climb. Within the midsole, a rocker geometry is engineered to create long-lasting forward propulsion so you'll always feel ready to take your next step. The curved nature of the sole delivers outstanding energy return and works to create fluid movement when hiking. To ensure complete comfort, the premium EVA foam has a 2mm greater stack height than the previous version for soft, comfortable landing. The soft nature of the foam ensures complete comfort on uneven terrain so you can go further for longer. Completing the midsole is a dual-density TPU plate underfoot which offers multi-directional stability and forward propulsion. The shoes have been made on an D-width last to accommodate a wider broader set of consumer foot shapes, and enhance stability further.

SurfaceCTRL Rubber Outsole

Designed to be hardwearing and grippy the VECTIV Exploris FUTURELIGHT have been developed using The North Face's signature SurfaceCTRL Rubber Outsole. This durable compound has been specially designed to ensure traction on both wet and dry surfaces. Not only does the outsole work exceptionally well on wet and dry terrain but it also works to ensure multi-directional traction on a wide range of surfaces. The highly durable rubber is strong enough to withstand the toughest trails yet, is flexible enough to adapt to different terrain so you can have complete control. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping. The outsole is designed to hold firm on uneven terrain so you can have complete confidence on the toughest terrains. Completing the outsole are 4mm lugs that provide the optimal balance between traction and durability on the trail. The lugs dig deep into wet mud and slippery rocks to ensure added traction and control. This will also benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
