ASICS Gel-Challenger 9 Women's Tennis Shoes
The Asics Women's Gel-Challenger 9 Tennis Shoes are perfect for an all-around player looking for a solid shoe that will help you perform at your best with exceptional stability and support.
Synthetic and Mesh Upper
The upper of the Asics Gel-Challenger 9 Women's Tennis Shoe is constructed with a lightweight, synthetic leather and mesh upper which provides great flexibility, performance, and breathability. Ventilation to the feet is key to keep the wearer feeling cool and comfortable throughout a long match on the court. Also fitted with a P.H.F (Personal Heel Fit) which features a memory foam lined heel collar which ensures a comfortable and personalised fit.
Forefoot and Rearfoot GEL Midsole
The Asics GEL Cushioning System has been the core technology of Asics footwear which is placed within the shoe's midsole at key impact areas. The GEL Cushioning System works in conjunction with the midsole material to attenuate the shock experienced by the foot from verticle forces in all sporting activities. The GEL Cushioning System is a key component in meeting these needs and is developed in many densities and shapes to best fit the impact requirements of these athletes. During a standard run, the foot encounters vertical impact forces normally 3 to 5 times an athlete's body weight during heel strike. The GEL Cushioning System in the heel attenuates the shock from this. This Rearfoot GEL Cushioning System stabilises the foot during the first phase of the Impact Guidance System. The GEL Cushioning System in the forefoot reduces the loading forces that would normally be applied as the foot moves in propulsion. The Forefoot GEL Cushioning System works in conjunction with the midsole material to reduce the shear forces and the forefoot flex grooves to accommodate the pressure as the foot rolls through the "line of progression" to toe-off, the final phase of the I.G.S. The midsole is also equipped with Solyte technology which is an even lightweight midsole than the Speva without loosing all the other properties. Some of the benefits of using this technology would be more cushioning, durability, responsiveness and of course its lightweight.
AHAR Outsole
Located in the outsole is the Asics Propulsion Trusstic System which is a plastic shank that channels energy to provide forward propulsion. It works by mirroring the functions of the foot's ligaments, specifically the plantar fascia. This transforms the foot from a flexible structure, for shock absorption through the heel strike and mid-stance, into a strong, firm lever to provide forward propulsion. As a result, the Propulsion Trusstic System helps to spring the runner forward with every stride. The outsole of the Gel-Challenger 9 is made with AHAR technology or Asics High Abrasion Rubber which is a tough rubber compound used at heavy contact and helps cut down on excessive wear. Lastly, it also features 3 pivot points which enable the wearer to move easily through multi-directional movements on the court.
