ASICS LAP Running Spikes
Perfect for multi-distance event runners, the ASICS LAP Running Spikes provide an extremely lightweight and versatile performance.
Lightewight Upper
An extremely lightweight upper has the weight kept to a minimum by using a thin layer of fabric. This will mean improve speed over short bursts as there is no unnecessary weight to hold you back. Air is able to enter and exit the shoe easily, which means the warm build up of air within the shoe can quickly be transferred with cooler air outside of the shoe. This will keep you feeling comfortable as you won't overheat. There is also a drainage system, a feature which would be perfect for a wet track or for the steeplechase, as water is quickly removed through panels. Not only will this improve in-race comfort but it will also improve speed as you won't have the weight from water sitting in the shoe holding you back. Up the foot laces and a flat-lying tongue makes it easy to secure the shoe to the foot in a comfortable and a streamlined way.
Solyte Midsole
The material used in the midsole is Solyte, Asics' developed compound that is lighter than Asics' standard EVA and SpEVA. This makes it the perfect midsole for Athletics, as it will give you that small extra advantage of not having to carry extra weight around. The midsole also provides the feet with comfort and protection from the track below. Durable cushioning means that heavy impacts from large strides or hurdle landings will not cause any discomfort to the sole of the foot.
Durable Outsole
The outsole is extremely durable, able to protect the definition of the sole. Due to it being abrasion-resistant, the track won't cause the dimples on the outsole to be run down quickly, which will increase its long-term functionality. Coming with removable spikes, secure and stabilise your feet to the running track with confidence. The spikes also act as a solid launchpad for acceleration bursts.
**You don't want to feel your toe cramped up against the front of the shoe. A spike should feel like it was meant for your foot, a little more snug than a training shoe feels so we would recommend half a size up on normal shoes**
