Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Helly Hansen Alpha Lifaloft Jacket is ready for your next adventure. Constructed using Helly Hansen's signature Helly Tech profession fabrication, this jacket works to keep you dry, warm and comfortable at all times. Helly Tech is the waterproof and breathable outer layer between you and the elements. Its unique membrane will keep water molecules out while allowing sweat vapour to pass through - keeping you dry from the outside and comfortable on the inside. The highly waterproof fabrication keeps you protected during harsh rain and snow showers and blocks out cold winds when harsh winds blow in. As well as this, the jacket uses a combination of Lifa technology with Primaloft insulation that retains more heat whilst remaining lightweight. The Lifa yarn technology is 20% lighter than polyester fibres offering lightweight and comfortable insulation without the bulk or weight creating maximum agility for even the most intense activities. Lifaloft is an insulation revolution that will keep you warmer with less weight and bulk due to the unique lifa yarn technology. Developed in cooperation with PrimaLoft, Lifaloft is a combination of Lifa and PrimaLoft extensive knowledge in synthetic insulation. Lifaloft insulation is based on a yarn technology that traps more air vs polyester at a lighter weight. The fibre doesn't absorb water and has inherited water repellency due to the hydrophobic properties of the Lifa fibres which make this insulation technology ideally for year-round adventures in any condition and keeps you warm even when wet.
To ensure added protection, the jacket features an adjustable hood that can be used to shield the face when the weather takes a turn for the worse. As well as this, the hood is detachable and helmet-compatible. A full zip allows you to control the amount of airflow as you go. The zip can be worn down when temperatures rise to release an intolerable heat build-up or when temperatures drop it can be worn up to seal in escaping heat. Dual hand warming pockets are perfect for cold winter days whilst two chest pockets can be used to store valuable items. As well as this, an internal pocket is perfect for goggle and electronics. The Helly Hansen Icon also features a Life pocket+ which keeps your phone alive longer in cold environments. Completing the jacket is a recco reflector that has been used within pants to enable quick localization in an emergency after an avalanche or a fall.
