GORE-TEX Upper

The upper of the La Sportiva Aequilibrium Hike has been created with a synthetic fabric that guarantees a lightweight and breathable feel without sacrificing protection and durability. Constructed from an anti-abrasion material that protects itself from knocks and scrapes on the trail, keeping the shoes in great condition for longer. Water-resistant fabrics provide additional protection when the weather takes a turn for the worse. A GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining keeps your feet dry during heavy rain, allowing you to concentrate on the journey ahead, and works to stop moisture from entering the boots. With a super breathable structure, the boots keep your feet fresh and cool during more intense priods. A 3D Flex System Evo ensures natural flexibility and mobility at the ankle for more stability on difficult terrain. Increasing the durability of the boots, an abrasion-resistant welt in the most high-wear areas provides you the confidence to tackle any terrain. Finishing the upper is a traditional lacing system secured with metal eyelets to lock down the ankle and midfoot for a secure feel and reduced in-shoe movement.

PU Foam Midsole

Alongside the upper is a soft midsole that provides instant underfoot comfort with a TPU film for anti-abrasive protection. The PU midsole differs from the standard compression moulded EVA midsoles by providing a high degree of cushioning and a better elasticity of the fabric. Despite being extremely lightweight, the midsole is denser than EVA and provides protection and cushioning, keeping you going longer. The densely packed midsole absorbs shocks and dampens heavy impacts instantly, reducing the risk of injury and stopping early fatigue. Furthering comfort, a La Sportiva Mountain Hiking 5mm insole has been included for instant comfort as soon as you step into the boot. The midsole has a Double Heel construction which is very pronounced, and has double rear block geometry that increases the braking effect on descents and allows for a smoother roll, reducing muscle fatigue.

Vibram Rubber Outsole

To supply you with a great pair of outdoor boots, the Aequillibrium Hike utilise a Vibram Rubber Outsole. The outsole compound enhances grip and traction on multiple surfaces, using a low-density polyurethane content which further maximises comfort and renders the sole highly adaptable to uneven terrain. The outsole also uses Impact Brake System Lugs for great adaptability to hard rock surfaces, and it offers real advantages during racing by reducing negative ground impact. The unique position of the lugs allows as many of them as possible to come into contact with the ground, for maximum impact absorption.
