Montane Flux Jacket
The Flux Jacket from Montane is a versatile insulated mountain jacket employing PrimaLoft Silver Eco insulation technology, making it both warm and light.
The Flux Jacket has amazing elemental protection, made even more amazing with the knowledge that the fabric is completely recycled. This recycled fabric is Pertex Quantum Eco, which basically means that this fabric is completely windproof, showerproof, fast-drying, compact and lightweight. This means it's great not just for mountaineering, hiking, expeditions, and climbing, it's also great for everyday life. The warmth is down to the Primaloft Silver Eco, which is 70% recycled and as warm as 650 down. To keep all of that warmth from escaping, the Flux yields YKK AquaGuard Zippers that are great at creating a barrier between you and the cold. For that extra bit of protection, the Flux also sports an internal storm flap behind the main zipper.
The Flux has many features in order to make the jacket comfortable in many different scenarios. The articulated arms mean you have restriction-free movement, while the slightly larger chest and arm dimensions mean you can layer without making the jacket tight. The jacket also has shaped cuffs which allow for a lot of adjustment, so you can easily find your personal preference. There are also two deep hand pockets that also act as hand-warmers due to their increase of insulation compared to the rest of the jacket. The hem of the Flux is also adjustable with the use of a two-sided cinchable drawcord so you can lock out the elements completely, or allow for extra ventilation. The ultimate comfort factor of this though is the PEAQ Synthetic Eco Lining, which is very comfortable against the skin and very breathable. Therefore, whether it be scaling Ben Nevis or walking your dog along the canal on a cold winter's morning, the flux will keep you warm, dry and comfortable.
The Flux has been designed with convenience in mind. This jacket can be used for many different activities, and one of the reasons for this is that the Flux has many convenience factors built in. The hood is not only insulated and showerproof but can also be used while wearing a helmet. It also has a roll-away design so it can be stored within the collar when you're not using it. It also has two zippered chest pockets, which are the perfect storage place for things such as a map, a mobile phone, a wallet or even a GPS. There is also an internal mesh pocket on the jacket's left side, which is a great place to store your gloves or even a water bottle. The zipper pullies have even been designed so that they can be used while wearing gloves/mitts, so you don't have to struggle to grasp the zipper. The ultimate convenience factor of the Flux is, the fact that this jacket can be stuffed into its own right pocket when not in use and turned into a pouch that has a carabiner loop so it can be hung from your backpack instead of taking space inside it. It is also so compact that it can be easily transported to make you prepared for whatever weather you come across.
