Breathable Mesh Upper
The upgraded upper of the Cloudstratus has been created using Swiss-engineered 100% recycled polyester, making the Cloudstratus forward-thinking in more ways than one. The upper of the shoes is durable yet lightweight, keeping you protected throughout your run without the added weight. The upper allows cool air to circulate around the foot whilst letting hot, muggy air escape, providing the perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in. A wide forefoot and improved heel hold mean a secure, customised fit and feel. Ideal for all types of runners, the redefined inner sock construction offers step-in comfort that'll take you twice as far. The uppers have been finished with a star-lacing system that wraps the foot for a secure hold and reduces in-shoe slippage.
Advanced Midsole and Outsole
A re-engineered bottom unit resides underfoot, to cushion your strides across hard surfaces on the road and pavements. Results of an independent study conducted with Progressive Sports Technologies based at Loughborough University showed that the double CloudTec reduces both the onset and duration of muscle soreness. So you can just keep going and going. The updated Double-Layered CloudTec technology alongside a dual-density Helion superfoam provides you with ultra-comfort and confidence on your next run. The CloudTec construction is formed to give you that extra boost you need to take you further and faster, and even better, this version doubles the boost. Advanced cushioning technology, CloudTec, adapts to every runner thanks to multi-directional Cloud elements that react to your unique movements to deliver soft landings alongside a powerful take-off. This cushioning technology is proven to reduce muscle fatigue and lower your heart rate so that you are able to run faster for longer. Made from a dual-density Helion superfoam, the compound provides the shoes with exceptional levels of durability, without added weight or bulk. The construction delivers you a soft underfoot feel, and improved cushioning.
Sandwiched between the top and bottom midsole, the shoes have an injected TPU Speedboard for a dynamic, enhanced energy return and soft underfoot feelings. The Speedboard is a rigid plate that delivers enhanced responsiveness and support during movement, promoting lateral stability and reducing stride momentum loss - essentially reducing the strain and fatigue felt by the muscles of the underfoot. Thanks to the rocker motion, the Cloudstratus provides you with a fun and "swift" forward-rolling sensation. On have reworked the bottom geometry, providing you with high levels of cushioning with a closed bottom structure to avoid annoying stone collecting, using customer feedback to provide a more enjoyable ride. Finally, the shoes utilise updated rubber pads which help to provide enhanced traction and durability on road and hard-surface runs.
