Salewa Mountain Trainer GORE-TEX Women's Walking Shoes
Designed to keep you on top all day no matter what the terrain is with the Salewa Mountain Trainer GORE-TEX Women's Walking Shoes. The robust structure combined with a durable and waterproof GORE-TEX membrane will keep your feet dry and protected all day.
GORE-TEX Upper
The upper of the Mountain Trainer is surrounded by a GORE-TEX membrane. Designed to keep water out of the main body of the shoes, the membrane will block out all water, stopping it from penetrating the surface layer and causing discomfort to the feet. Despite preventing water from entering the shoes, air and moisture from inside are still able to find its way out, which means that the membrane will not compromise breathability. This will allow a steady and constant airflow in and out, which will keep the feet feeling fresh and ventilated. With robust suede leather surrounding the base of the upper, this will ensure that all bumps and heavy contacts will be absorbed before reaching the foot. The toes and the heel have especially reinforced protection, which will keep your feet protected and healthy. The shoe uses Salewa's 3F System to further improve the fit. This system will improve the flexibility of the upper, while also providing support and removing irritations and distractions that come with an uncomfortable fit. Specially designed climbing laces run all the way from the toes to the ankle and are able to secure a tight fit when ascending, whilst can be loosened for improved comfort when descending. A padded tongue and ankle will sit against the top of the foot and ankle softly, removing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing. Within the shoe, there is an Ortholite footbed. This will wick moisture away efficiently and effectively, as well as providing a comfortable and soft surface for the sole of the foot.
Bilight TPU Midsole
A dual-density midsole will ensure that you will be able to tackle the toughest of terrains with ease and comfort. The Bilight TPU Technology in the midsole is ergonomically designed to cradle the foot, which will keep your feet feeling comfortable all day no matter no long your hike is. Towards the bottom of the midsole, the EVA is extremely firm, which means that heavy shocks and impacts are absorbed instantly and effectively, stopping the pressure from reaching the sole. Cushioning is also provided by the midsole, which will reduce the amount of pressure felt the ankles and knees. This will combat fatigue, which will allow you to keep going for longer.
Vibram Outsole
Using a Vibram outsole, this will give you unrivalled grip and traction on the mountainside to keep you feeling confident and in full control. The rubber used is able to form an extremely solid connection with a wide range of different surfaces, providing a stable and strong grip. As well as this, the rubber is abrasion resistant, which will stand up against abuse from rough and uneven terrain. This will mean that the definition and the functionality of the outsole will remain strong over a long period of time. Deep lugs are able to dig into the wet and muddy ground, which will anchor the feet in place and form a solid base for you to push off from. In addition to this, the design of the outsole will encourage the mud to escape out of the outsole, keeping the performance of the outsole high. A Ferrata zone on the outsole will improve grip with specific right-angled lugs that maximise force applied through the foot. They ensure better grip on the rungs of via ferrata ladders than a conventional flat midfoot section.
