Schoeller-Keprotec Upper
Engineered using a Schoeller-Keprotec upper, the IRock 4 features aramid fibres which are incredibly durable and protective to keep you going mile after mile. The upper allows for optimal airflow, by allowing warm air to escape, and cool air to enter, creating the perfect microclimate for your feet. This will work constantly over a long period, keeping you feeling cool and comfortable over long miles. A Fitlock system provides additional protection whilst ensuring a personalised fit around the foot arch while the flat-laying tongue reduces irritation caused by rubbing to enhance comfort. Covering the toes are overlays created with a thicker material to help protect from rocks and uneven surfaces and the antislip heel ensures a closer fit for a more secure ride. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks the midfoot for a secure fit.
Flexible Cushioned Midsole
A full-length flexible, cushioned midsole features lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the midsole ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. The midsole is extremely firm and will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced from this will also be returned as a rebound, giving you an added spring in your step.
Superior Contact Outsole
Featuring a unique outsole, the IRock 4 utilises a Superior Contact rubber outsole that ensures ultimate control and traction whilst out on the trails. The outsole can form an extremely strong grip with a wide range of different terrains, guaranteeing complete underfoot traction. Naturally tough, the outsole will maintain its shape and definition over a long period. 6mm multi-directional lugs have been meticulously shaped and positioned to improve propulsion at the front, and braking at the rear. Measured spacing between the lugs prevents debris from sticking to the outsole, cuts through loose trails, and remains super-durable, but it also gives great grip in wet conditions. VJ's signature Butyl rubber also features on the outsole, giving the IRock its world-famous grip.
