IMPORTANT: These are body measurements, not the measurements of our garments.
While all of our garments are sized to these measurements, you will find that the cut on jackets designed for use in more extreme environments will be slightly more generous in the expectation that these designs will be used with additional/thicker mid-layers. If you plan on using a jacket like this with fewer layers beneath it, please keep this in mind when selecting your size.
REGULAR FIT FOR GARMENTS
Designed to be versatile our Regular Fit garments are not closely fitted making them ideal for cross-seasonal use and multi-layering. Regular fit garments are contoured, with room for movement.
SLIM FIT FOR GARMENTS
Our Slim Fit garments are designed to be worn closer to the body or over layers such as baselayers and light mid-layers. Slim fit garments are close fitting for maximum performance when moving dynamically.
EXPEDITION FIT FOR GARMENTS
Expedition garments are designed to be worn in colder conditions over more layers of clothing than our other fits and are oversized slightly to allow for this.

Sleeping Bags
Getting a good night's sleep when it's cold out there is super important. Luckily, we're masters of insulation. By choosing a Rab® sleeping bag, you know you're going to have some sweet dreams, no matter if you're on an alpine bivi, or in the back of your camper. However, picking the right size is key.
In this guide, we look at the different fits and sizes of our bags. Outlining their benefits and ideal uses.
FIT
You don't want your bag too big, or too small. Either way, you'll lose heat. You also want to be comfortable.
Our bags come in three shapes:
- Mummy shaped - your comfy option. These are broader at the shoulders and get slightly narrower towards the foot box. Great for side sleepers or those who like to have a little wiggle-room. Used in: Ascent, Solar, Expedition, Andes
- Tapered Mummy shaped - the performance option. Tapered mummy bags are the 'slim fit' of sleeping bags. These are close at the shoulders and tighter at the feet to reduce any excess air. They are the most thermally efficient option, pack the smallest and weight the least. Used in: Neutrino, Neutrino Pro, Mythic, Mythic Ultra, Alpine Pro
- Extra Wide Mummy shape - spacious option. You guessed it. These are extra wide and have lots of room inside. Ideal for car camping or casual users. Used in: Morpheus
SIZE
Alongside the fit, comes the actual size of the bag. You want to choose a sleeping bag that's closest to your own measurements.
Each model has its own fit. And, the internal measurements of all the fill variations for that model are the same. For example, getting in an Ascent 900 feels the same as getting in an Ascent 300. The internal dimensions stay the same. We change the outer dimensions of the bag to accommodate for the extra down filling.
We have three basic sizes, Women's, Regular, and XL. Broadly speaking these are based on height, though the widths are also different.
A quick guide to choosing your sleeping bag size

170 - 185 cm | Regular |

BACKPACKS
Having a comfortable pack can be a make or break for your trip. No matter if you're carrying 18kg on a multi-day expedition, or just an extra layer and lunch on a short hill day. Fitting your pack properly takes a little time. But we promise it'll be time well spent.
All our packs have their sizes detailed on the product pages. In this guide, we'll look at how to measure your back length and how to fit your pack.
How to measure your back length
You'll need a tape measure and a friend to help you out with this.
- Place your hands on your hips and tilt your head forwards.
- Ask your friend to measure from the bony bit at the back of your neck (the C7 vertebrae) to where your hands sit on your hips.
- This measurement will give you an idea of which back length to choose.
All our packs have their sizes detailed on the product pages.
Fitting your pack in 6 steps
- Loosen all the straps.
- Add a little weight into the pack. 3-4 kilos will do it.
- Put the backpack on your shoulders and do up the hip belt. This should sit over your hip bone.
- Check that the pack is sitting well over your shoulders. It should follow the contour of your upper back. If the hip belt is sitting above your hip or pulling down your shoulders, you'll need to lengthen the back. If it is below your hips or really loose over your shoulders, then shorten the back length.
- Once you're happy with the back length, whilst wearing the pack, tighten the shoulder harness so it is just tight enough. If you grab the straps and pull down and back, your hands should not usually pass your waist.
- Make sure the sternum (chest) strap is in the right place for you and clip together. This should only be 'finger-tight'.
And you're good to go.
It's also a good idea to go through these steps every so often to make sure your pack still fits you well.
