With the familiar Altra EGO MAX midsole cushion and Vibram Megagrip outsole of the Timp trail runner. But also equipped with GORE-TEX waterproof technology, tested and proven for durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable performance.

Breathable Mesh Upper

To ensure feet remain dry, yet cool and cosy in constantly changing weather, the Timp 5 Hiker utilises a combination of breathable mesh, alongside a GORE-TEX upper. These technical materials ensure optimised comfort and a distraction-free experience. To prevent overheating, the boots feature mesh fabric to allow a constant supply of air to flow freely through the materials, keeping them fresh and comfortable from start to finish. Thick TPU overlays around the toes add more durability and protection in high-wearing areas, to keep feet shielded from knocks, bumps and grazes on the trail. The boots utilise a Roomy Toe Box which encourages the toes to relax and spread naturally while keeping the big toe straight. This also enhances stability during uphill climbs and downhill descents when out on challenging trails whilst creating powerful toe-offs to maximise performance. The GORE-TEX materials prevent feet from getting wet and uncomfortable when the weather takes a turn for the worse, for confident, cosy adventures. Additionally, the materials have moisture-wicking properties to further prevent feet from becoming uncomfortable and reduce the amount of sweat or moisture build-up to keep feet dry. The mid-height collar and soft tongue prevent irritation or chafing and prevent dirt or debris from entering the boots. Finally, the boots have a traditional lacing system that prevents in-shoe slipping from occurring.

Altra EGO MAX Midsole

The Timp 5 Hiker GORE-TEX utilises Altra's EGO MAX midsole compound to ensure an extremely lightweight, luxurious level of performance, with added bounce for outstanding cushioning and in-shoe comfort. This soft compound prevents the risks of distraction or discomfort alongside a Balanced Cushioning that places your forefoot and heel at the same distance from the ground, keeping your foot in a natural position and providing a low-impact landing, to protect your joints.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

To ensure unparalleled grip and traction across various surfaces and multiple terrains, the Timp 5 Hiker GORE-TEX utilises a Vibram Megagrip outsole compound. A high-performing rubber outsole, this adapts well to the ground you're traversing across and works to form a solid bond with the surface below, to keep you in control of your adventures and keep things as lightweight as possible. Adorning the outsole are deep lugs that provide an optimised grip, ensuring a stable base even in muddy conditions.
