ASICS Gel-Kayano 28 MK Running Shoes
The GEL-KAYANO 28 MK shoe creates a stable stride that moves you towards a balanced mindset. Featuring a lower-profile external heel counter, this piece cradles your foot with improved rearfoot support. To improve stability and responsiveness, FF BLAST cushioning is added to the midsole. It provides a smooth and supportive feel in each step.
Mono-Sock Upper
Utilising a Mono-Sock Technology Fit System, the Gel-Kayano 28 MKs provide you with targeted support and a comfortable foothold. The mono-sock construction comfortably wraps your foot in a sock-like fit, for a distraction-free ride. Not only this but the tongue is fully integrated into the rest of the shoe further applying the comfortable, sock-like fit. This will prevent discomfort inside the shoe, as well as, abrasion and chafing for a more enjoyable ride. Alongside this, the knitted fabrics of the upper ensure a lightweight, breathable experience for all-temperature comfort, and perforations further allow your feet to stay cool whilst under pressure. An exoskeletal heel counter, secures the rearfoot, helping to anchor you to the midsole and reduce in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. A lacing system increases midfoot support to ensure a dynamic fit for all-day comfort.
FlyteFoam Midsole
The midsole of the Gel-Kayano 28 Running Shoe is made up of multiple compounds to bring you a cushioned and explosive ride from stepping out to stepping in. Flytefoam propel is the main cushioning compound used the Kayano because of its lightweight foam formulation and high energy return. Its lightweight foam construction reduces drag allowing you to run faster for longer whilst the elastomer creates a high energy return for increased bounce and unrivalled toe-offs. A special formulation has also been used in the construction of propelling to ensure unrivalled propulsion allowing you to get better performances out of every stride. Resilient and innovative, FlyteFoam Propel technology lets you run with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. FF Blast has also been used within the midsole to ensure unmatched shock absorption and a lively ride. FF Blast is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently, and for longer without the worry your shoes might not be able to take it.
Embedded within the midsole platform, and complimenting its bouncy nature, are the Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning Systems. They work to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as your sprint down onto hard, unforgiving concrete, and allowing for a smooth transition to mid-stance. ASICS contrast their cushioning with the Duomax Support System. Implemented on the medial side, it helps to control pronation and reduce the risk of injury, enhancing stability and support without sacrificing lightweight or comfort. The midsole also utilises 3D Space Construction technology which addresses the gait differences of male and female runners and is designed to reduce over-pronation, which keeps your foot supported. Completing the midsole is an OrthoLite X-55 sockliner that offers excellent rebound and cushioning for all-day comfort.
AHAR Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHAR outsole. ASICS' high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used in heavy-contact or high-wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. The high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. Flex grooves also adorn the outsole to provide added traction underfoot, the grooves allow for natural foot flexion for easy, unhindered paces. An impact guidance system exists underfoot to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. The guidance line exists to enhance gait efficiency while increasing the shoe's torsional rigidity to prevent it from twisting. Completing the outsole is a Trusstic system that reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe.
