Deuter's Futura 21 backpack is a fully-featured hiking bag that packs functionality and durability, without sacrificing weight. The Futura 21 backpack uses Deuter's short-back system, which is part of a collaboration with female ambassadors, to provide a more comfortable fit for women. The fabric has great ventilation properties, due to the Aircomfort System which has been fitted into the backpack. Aircomfort System utilises a mesh backing that sits onto the back, to help in reducing sweating, up to 25%. The elastic spring steel frame provides flexibility and effectively transfers the pressure and weight in the hip belts provided on the product. The bag has stabiliser straps, ensuring pressure is evenly spread out throughout the pack. Pivoting ergonomic shoulder straps provide a fit that works better for you, including non-abrasive comfortable pressure points. The storage within the pack is vast, starting with the laundry stretch inner compartment, to store your wet clothes. There are also two side stretch pockets, which allow storage for a range of things such as a map, and an internal pocket, which you could use for your valuable items. The front pocket of the pack also has an organiser built-in so you can be prepared at all times. If storage wasn't ample enough already you also have compartments to attach other belongings such as a helmet, or trekking pole, all extremely useful when on a long day out. You can protect your belongings from unpredictable weathering with a detachable rain cover, as well as the backpack being fitted with durable water-repellent properties. The garment is also compatible with hydration systems of up to 3 litres.
The Futura 21 SL is constructed from a combination of Deuter fabrics, alongside recycled raw materials. Deuter strives for sustainability and environmental protection, with their use of fabrics and manufacturing, and 50% of the yarn in this backpack is made from recycled raw materials. The main materials of Futura are Bluesign Certified.
