Mammut Alnasca Knit III Low GORE-TEX Walking Shoes
Across alpine terrain, on climbs and via ferrata, these versatile approach shoes provide the support and stability you need to stop blisters in their tracks.
GORE-TEX Upper
The upper of the Alnasca III is crafted from a soft knitted material that features a GORE-TEX membrane for waterproofing you can count on. It seals out moisture whilst allowing built-up heat and internal moisture to escape through its micro-perforations. It features Base Fit technology, which uses sliding webbing that transfers power from the lacing area to the soles, ensuring improved hold in the shoe to increase safety and comfort for confident strides. The lacing system helps further lock down the shoe for comfort and security. The elastic knitted sock construction delivers a second-skin feel that allows the shoe to feel like an extension of the body. The upper is finished with a TPU heel stabiliser that further locks down the foot for total control.
Foam Cushioning Midsole
Underfoot, soft cushioning spares your joints as you walk along unforgiving terrain. It provides support as you move across technical terrain and adapts to your foot as you move, dissipating pressure on the sole of your foot. It achieves all of this whilst still allowing for precise footwork when needed most, helping you confidently approach the trails. Finally, 3D-shaped elements provide 360-degree heel support to help prevent ankle twisting and deliver a supported feel.
Flextron Vibram Outsole
Mammut have identified 3 key aspects that they want in an outsole and have delivered it; ergonomic movement, dynamic control and optimal traction, their Flextron technology deals with all of them. Creating a barefoot feeling that supports your foot's natural anatomy, the aim of the Flextron technology is to relieve pressure keeping you feeling light on your feet. The core of the technology is a spring-steel sole ensuring flexible support to ensure your foot is rolling correctly, naturally improving your posture and a more efficient way to use your energy. The lateral stability of the sole improves your foot position, therefore, providing you with precise landing even on uneven terrain. The contact surface in the shoe is increased thanks to the even distribution of movement forces all over the spring-steel shoe resulting in improved grip. Couple this with the Vibram outsole known for being the market leader in grippy outsoles providing traction and stability on any surface.
