GORE-TEX Upper

Providing feet with outstanding comfort and excellent levels of protection on the trails, the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX utilises a nylon ripstop and TPU upper, alongside a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane. The nylon ripstop upper is highly durable to protect the shoes from damage and your feet from discomfort on your next hiking adventure. This breathable material allows air to flow freely through construction to prevent overheating and keep feet feeling cool and fresh, whilst the moisture-wicking properties reduce the amount of sweat and moisture build-up. A GORE-TEX waterproof membrane provides feet with additional levels of breathability and in-shoe comfort and adds waterproof performance, for a dry and comfortable wearing experience. Improving your hiking journeys with added comfort and extra protection, the shoes have an abrasion-resistant synthetic heel and toe cap to shield you from knocks and bumps on future adventures and add longevity to the high-wearing areas of the shoes. Ensuring a comfortable and easy on-and-off construction, the shoes have dual heel and tongue loops, as well as, are carabiner compatible. The bellowed tongue and comfortable collar provide feet with comfortable in-shoe comfort, prevent irritation and keep out dirt and debris. Working alongside the lace-up system they keep your feet secure when traversing tricky and changing terrains.

FloatPro Foam Midsole

Ensuring optimised in-shoe comfort and confidence during long hiking adventures, the shoes utilise Merrell's FloatPro foam through the midsole of the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX. This lightweight compound provides feet with outstanding comfort that lasts and keeps feet soft and bouncy on tricky trails. Helping to reduce injuries or discomfort when out on long adventures, the midsole provides support to key areas of your foot, such as the heel and arch, holding your feet in place for smooth transitions. Additionally, a lightweight FlexPlate is utilised underfoot, to enhance torsional rigidity, and provide lateral stability and forefoot flexibility to keep you stable and secure on constantly changing hiking journeys. Keeping you confident in your footwear and its long-lasting wearability, the shoes have been treated with a Cleansport NXT treatment, which provides natural odour control to keep feet feeling and smelling fresher for longer.

Vibram TC5+ Outsole

Developed using a Vibram TC5+ outsole, the Moab Speed provides exceptional traction for outdoor multi-sport activities, formulated exclusively for Merrell. Developed for slippery terrain, the extremely durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip, the outsole provides a confident footing on varied terrain thanks to Vibram traction lugs specifically designed to increase traction and shed debris with each step. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain and works to protect itself from damage, as well as, protect users from losing control and slipping.
