Nike ZoomX Dragonfly 2 Running Spikes
The Dragonfly 2, one of the fastest long-distance track spikes to cross the finish line, turning up the tempo even more. Its ZoomX foam midsole is engineered to the exact specifications of championship athletes. It combines a comfortable fit and propulsive feel built to go the distance in races and key workouts.
Lightweight Mesh Upper
Designed with comfort in mind, the upper of the Nike ZoomX Dragonfly 2 has been created with a breathable mesh upper. The upper is highly breathable thanks to perforations within the fabric that allow cool air to flow whilst releasing built-up heat keeping your feet cool and comfortable even when your race heats up. Its conforming fit gives you a disappearing sensation as you move increasing comfort and providing a pair of spikes built to go the distance. An anatomical toe design follows the foot's natural contours; enhancing propulsion by increasing space in the forefoot, allowing the toes to splay and push off the ground. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot, reducing in-shoe movement for distraction-free strides.
ZoomX Midsole
Ultra-light and super-responsive, the ZoomX foam unit in the midsole offers Nike's greatest energy return yet. When your foot hits the ground the foam instantly absorbs impact and expels it back out for a bounce-like effect. This reduces superfluous muscle power, diminishes fatigue and enhances performance, keeping you performing better for longer. The revolutionary ZoomX foam is manufactured from Pebax, a product conventionally used in plastic bridges and other moulded parts, and yields cushioning that is not only lightweight but soft and springy. Until now, these three characteristics (collectively) have proven nearly impossible to achieve. The spikes have a slightly wider midfoot and forefoot than the previous iteration improving stability.
Four Spike Outsole
Featuring a new outsole, the ZoomX Dragonfly 2 has gone from six spike pins in favour of four removable spike pins, made of stainless steel, to deliver optimal biting traction. Removing the two spikes and elevating the platform by the big toe helps you feel more stable on the straights and around the bends so you can power through to the finish line. The new full-length plate material is lighter than the previous version while maintaining durability. With a curved design, the spikes give you a propulsive feel, helping to increase your speed as you look to hit that new PB.
