Osprey Kestrel 48 Backpack (S/M)
If you need a pack that can handle scraping through sandstone canyons, scrambling up snow-covered peaks, or hauling your gear for a day of trail work, the Kestrel can manage all that and more. For light weekends or big days out, the 48-litre Kestrel is a rucksack-style pack made to haul heavy gear through challenging environments.
Built to withstand every outdoor environment, from sandstone canyons to alder-filled alpine forests, the Kestrel 48 from Osprey is an extra-durable 48L backpacking pack, complete with rain cover and reservoir sleeve, perfect for big days. Thanks to the integrated rain cover there is no excuse to not hit the trail. The included rain cover keeps your belongings safe and protected come rain or shine. When not needed it can be stored in a zippered pocket at the base of the pack. For easy-access organisation and plenty of secure storage for everything you may need, the Kestrel 48 features a variety of pockets and attachment points. The top lid with a large, zippered pocket allows for easy access while the top panel lash points and an under-lid zippered mesh pocket with a key clip provides separate space for essentials that need to be kept within reach. An internal reservoir sleeve offers quick and simple hydration and a Hydraclip makes reservoir hanging easier. A shove-it pocket with stretch mesh gussets can be found on the front panel alongside dual daisy chains for added storage. The pack also features dual quick-release upper-side compression straps to help add stability with an axe or trekking pole capture for a secure fastening. Dual lower-side compression straps can be adjusted to further stabilise the load for comfortable carry. Great for backpacking trips, the Kestrel 48 offers additional storage for your sleeping bag and sleeping pads thanks to a zippered sleeping bag compartment with a floating divider and sleeping pad straps that can be removed if not required. Dual ice tool loops provide a place to secure your ice tools when not in use and a stow-on-the-go trekking pole attachment makes it quick and easy to access or store your trekking pole whilst on the move. Extra storage is provided by the dual stretch mesh side pockets and zippered hip belt pockets while a side access zip offers additional entry to the main compartment.
Designed to support you on your outdoor adventures, the backpack is complete with a Kestrel back system that has been engineered for comfort and stability. Kestrel is designed to provide a body-specific fit to achieve maximum comfort and stability across body types. Alongside this, an AirScape back panel offers updated adjustable torso lengths and features a new injection-moulded frame sheet for a stable, breathable, close-to-body carry, even when the trail gets technical.
