Boa Closure System Upper

Providing you with an exceptional sock-like fit, adidas have partnered with BOA Technology to provide easily adjusted and secure lacing. Easy to adjust and release, the laces will provide a secure grip on the foot over an extremely long period of time. As your exercise begins to intensify, your feet will start to warm up, causing the air within the shoe to get hot. The material will allow the air to escape out of the shoe, where it is then replaced by cooler air from outside. The constant process will keep the feet feeling fresh and ventilated for long-term comfort. Moisture is also able to escape from within the shoe, where it is then wicked away efficiently and effectively. There are abrasion resistant weldings in the upper, which will improve protection from any bumps and knocks felt on the trail. A reinforced toe will protect the forefoot should you accidentally bump in when running, taking some of the impacts away. Similarly, the heel has a firm surrounding counter which will hold it in a healthy and upright position. A padded tongue will sit gently on the foot, reducing the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing. Carrying dirty shoes around with you is easy and clean to do with a heel loop. Finally, for further comfort, there is a moulded sockliner which over time will shape to your foot guaranteeing a snug fit.

Boost Midsole

adidas again take cushioning and responsiveness to new heights, with their ultra-responsive midsole. Boost is constructed from tiny TPU capsules that are moulded together to form a platform that is different to standard, solid foams; absorbing energy and then expelling it back out for a bounce-like effect. This energy return technology reduces the use of superfluous muscle power, diminishing fatigue and enhancing performance; keeping you going on the trails for longer. Capturing the energy you put into running and blasting it right back out, the newly optimised Boost midsole brings even more energy return to your ride. Crucially for trail running, the midsole will also offer adaptability on rocky surfaces, absorbing impacts and protecting the sole of the foot from damage.

Continental Rubber Outsole

Built to give you unrivalled control in a plethora of terrains and conditions, adidas have teamed up with Continental with their outsole. The rubber is able to form a solid connection with a wide range of wet or dry surfaces, which will give you control and confidence when you are on technical sections. Standing up against abuse from below, the rubber is abrasion resistant, which will maintain the shape and definition of the outsole. An aggressive lug design will further improve traction, as it will dig into the wet ground and offer you a firm base to push off from when taking a step.
