Altra Torin 4 Women's Running Shoes

Breathable Performance Mesh Upper

As your activity begins to intensify, warm muggy air starts to build up within the shoe. This is able to escape out of the shoe through the material on the upper. Once removed, cooler air is able to permeate the layer, which will give the feet a cooler environment. Moisture created from sweat is also able to escape away from the feet before the material naturally wicks it away. Thicker coverage over the forefoot and heel will provide protection from accidental impacts and heavy forces. The shoe uses a traditional lacing system which will make it easy to achieve a secure and comfortable fit. The upper uses Altra's developed technology Footshape. This will allow the feet and the toes to naturally splay in a wide toe box. By having more space, this will allow the foot to relax and spread out, working to reduce over-pronation, enhance stability and creating a far more powerful toe-off. A soft insole will provide next to skin cushioning and comfort.

Quantic Midsole

The Torin 4 uses Altra's innovative Quantic midsole. This new technology provides you with a perfect blend of soft cushioning and extreme responsiveness all whilst being extremely lightweight. Towards the top of the midsole, the Quantic material is extremely soft, which will mean that when facing impact from the feet it will gently cushion them. Further down, the material is firmer which will mean that all impacts will be absorbed instantly and effectively. The energy absorbed and created from other motion will be transferred into rebound, providing you with an extremely responsive ride. The midsole in the Torin 4 has 2mm less cushioning than the Torin 4 PLSH, which makes the shoe lighter and faster. Within the midsole, Altra have used their Innerflex technology. These are grid-like grooves inserted in the midsole, which will allow your feet to flex without causing any damage to the shoe. It also removes excess weight from the shoe, making it feel lighter allowing for more speed and performance. The midsole has a zero-drop, which promotes a more natural gait cycle, allowing you to find a natural rhythm and foot strike.

Durable Rubber Outsole

The outsole is designed to give you control and as a result, it will give you confidence when on the roads. The rubber is able to form a solid grip on a wide range of different surfaces to provide strong traction, keeping you in firm control. Additionally, the rubber is abrasion resistant and will stand up against hard surfaces to maintain its shape and definition. The outsole has a strategic decoupling, which allows it to flex more to give you a smooth and fluid ride. Multidirectional grooves will further anchor the foot in place, providing a solid base for takeoffs, changes of direction and slowing down.
