ASICS GT-2000 8 GORE-TEX Women's Running Shoes
The GT-2000 8 GORE-TEX waterproof running shoe features a GORE-TEX upper and is designed for runners who don't stop for rain, snow or mud. The GT-2000 8 road running shoe features an updated GEL technology piece and a softer section of foam in the heel for improved comfort and shock absorption. The lightweight FLYTEFOAM technology midsole offers a soft landing with each stride, so you can experience a more energetic stride.
Engineered Mesh Upper
Engineered mesh uppers will encase each foot in breathable comfort. Perforations in the fabric increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. The forefoot has been opened up to reduce irritation and allow for natural toe splay, and the shoe's seamless construction minimises the risk of rubbing and blisters; because we know how those can ruin your day. This updated model features a more spacious toe box thanks to the new last that the shoe is built upon, offering enhanced comfort and extra room when you need it most. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoes, supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; so sweat is kept to a minimum and you are kept cool and comfy. When firing through the gait cycle extra help is at hand with a moulded internal heel counter; providing improved support and creates an enhanced heel fitting environment, reducing risks of potential injury to the foot and surrounding muscles and allowing a smooth transition from heel strike to toe off.
FlyteFoam Midsole
Embedded within the midsole, are the rearfoot and forefoot Gel cushioning systems. These systems help to attenuate shock at heel-strike and toe-off, sparing your joints as you land onto hard, unforgiving surfaces, and promoting a smooth transition through the gait cycle. ASICS play their ace card in lightweight cushioning: FlyteFoam. A layer of protection, bounce and comfort, it sits under the heel and midfoot to provide you with unmatched shock absorption and a lively ride. FlyteFoam is the next generation of ASICS' lightweight and responsive cushioning technology. The midsole formula features a reinforced, sustainable nanofibre compound which increases the foam's durability and provides more stability for runners, buffering against the ground to protect the wearer from unnecessary stress and fatigue. The reinforced fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run; so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer, without the worry that your shoes might not be able to take it. ASICS contrast their cushioning with the Dynamic Duomax support system. Implemented on the medial side, it helps to control pronation; enhancing stability and support without sacrificing lightweight or comfort.
AHAR Outsole
An AHAR (ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber) outsole completes the GT-2000 8, strategically placed in high-stress areas to supply excellent grip without compromising the shoe's permanence. I.G.S (Impact Guidance System) technology combines an interlinked set of technical features in the outsole to encourage more natural foot motion. The combination of a Trusstic System and Guidance Line work to increase stability and aid smoother landings. A reinforced middle part of the outsole prevents the shoe from twisting helping to keep the foot in place and aid smooth, natural landings. The vertical grooves of the guidance line run from heel to toe, with the centre of pressure concentrated on these groves stability is increased with enhanced control of motion.
