ASICS Gel-Cumulus 22 GORE-TEX Running Shoes
The GEL-CUMULUS 22 running shoe is a recommended choice for neutral runners who want a soft, flexible everyday trainer with a great fit. This update features a one-piece upper mesh that's combined with a seamless 3D print construction, which balances support and comfort around the foot - giving you an excellent fit right out of the box.
3D Print Upper
Featuring a 3D Print Mesh, the upper of the ASICS Gel-Cumulus 22 Running Shoes is designed to increases forefoot support and comfort. Lightweight and highly breathable for all-temperature comfort, the mesh acts as a lightweight second skin, providing a supportive and comfortable fit. Its perforated construction allows air to fully permeate the entire upper, letting your feet breathe when the temperature starts to rise or your training session heats up. The increase in ventilation provides a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive in. As well as this, the newly designed upper offers a barley there fit for unrestricted comfort from the moment you put them on till the moment you take the off. The soft nature of the upper sits comfortably against the skin to reduce the risks of chafing and irritation. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.
FlyteFoam Propel Midsole
Designed to provide lightweight cushioning, the midsole of the Gel-Cumulus 22 has been constructed using asics' signature flytefoam propel technology. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer without the worry your shoes might not be able to take it. Resilient and innovative, FlyteFoam Propel technology lets you run with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. FlyteFoam Propel as explained above has all the features and benefits that you already love about the innovative technology but brings together lightweight foam with high energy return elastomer for increased bounce and unrivalled toe-off, allowing you to get better performances out of every stride. Embedded within the midsole platform, and complementing its bouncy nature, are the Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning Systems. They work to reduce shock during the impact phase, sparing your joints as your sprint down onto hard, unforgiving concrete, and allowing for a smooth transition to mid-stance. Completing the midsole is an Ortholite X-40 Sockliner which ensures added comfort and moisture managing properties. Featuring higher rebound properties, the sockliner ensure ample underfoot comfort whilst also working to wick excess sweat and moisture away from the skin to keep you cool, comfortable and dry at all times.
AHAR Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHAR outsole. ASICS' high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact or high wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. The high abrasion outsole provides a strong grip and works to protect itself from damage, and protect users from losing control and slipping. Creating a strong bond with the ground beneath it, the outsole allows you to stay in full control at all times. Flex grooves also adorn the outsole to provide added traction underfoot, the grooves allow for natural foot flexion for easy, unhindered paces. An impact guidance system exists underfoot to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. The guidance line exists to enhance gait efficiency while increasing the shoe's torsional rigidity to prevent it from twisting. Lastly, deep flex grooves create smoother transitions from midfoot to toe-off
