Engineered Mesh Upper
Providing feet with outstanding in-shoe comfort and a flexible fit, the Gel-Contend 9 utilises an engineered mesh. The soft mesh stretches with the foot's natural motion, for a comfortable, natural feel and allows feet to move freely. Perforations feature throughout the uppers to provide a constant level of airflow, ensuring your feet feel fresh and comfortable during your next adventure. Synthetic stitching on the overlays helps to create a more supportive foothold, providing feet with added shielding and in-shoe comfort, for an irritation-free fit. Finally, the shoes have a traditional lace-up closure to provide feet with a locked-in, secure fit.
AMPLIFOAM+ Midsole
Providing you with a soft, comfortable landing, the shoes have an Amplifoam+ midsole, a highly durable compound which adapts to your running stride. The shock-absorbing properties of the midsole help to absorb impact when striking down onto hard and unforgiving surfaces, preventing the risks of injury, and ensuring comfort throughout. The rearfoot GEL technology present in the midsole of the Gel-Contend 9 also provides cushioning against impact during the heel strike phase. The TRUSSTIC technology further improves stability whilst allowing feet to move freely, allowing you to change direction more confidently. An OrthoLite sockliner provides you with excellent step-in comfort and cushions your landing. Finally, the shoes utilise Guidance Line technology to provide a more consistent stride and provide you with a great amount of support during running.
Durable Rubber Outsole
For grip and traction on the road below, the Gel-Contend 9 have a durable rubber outsole. This rubber outsole ensures grip on a variety of surfaces and is highly durable to enhance the longevity of these shoes. Flex grooves adorn the outsole to allow feet to move more flexibly and freely, whilst also ensuring you're provided extra grip, for a solid base for you to push from.
