ASICS GEL-CUMULUS® 18

Eighteen years in the making, the legacy of ASICS' hallowed GEL-Cumulus® 18 shoe now features Convergence GEL® Technology. For improved comfort and an unprecedented ride, Asics' rearfoot GEL® Cushioning Technology is placed closer to the foot to replicate the comfort of your foot's natural tissue, increasing function and shock dissipation.

Synthetic/Mesh Upper

The new GEL-CUMULUS' upper is constructed using comfortable, supportive and breathable synthetic materials with mesh panels for increased airflow, which helps to keep the feet cool and dry, and creates a more pleasant environment for the wearer. The plush Comfordry™ Sockliner provides extra cushioning, and also boasts exceptional moisture wicking qualities, which helps to leave your feet cool and dry, and your shoes at their lightest weight. The sockliner is removable, and as such can easily be washed between uses. The addition of reflective elements help to improve safety when out training in low-light conditions. As such, not only will these shoes take care of your gait, but also your safety.

Convergence GEL® Midsole

The new CUMULUS features an updated Convergence GEL® midsole, which provides enhanced shock absorption to make for a more comfortable ride. The GEL® unit in the heel has also been moved as a result of Asics' new research. The GEL® unit is now placed closer to the foot to replicate your foot's natural tissue, which increases the GEL's function and shock dissipation. The result is a smoother ride, with reduced stress on the wearer's joints.

Asics' Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) is also incorporated into the CUMULUS' midsole. I.G.S.® helps the wearer to run more smoothly by enhancing the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe off, thereby helping you to run in a neutral stance. Neutral running posture is further enforced by Guidance Line® Midsole Technology, which improves your gait efficiency by helping the wearer to run neutrally. The result of these technologies combined is a supportive ride, to help you to run neutrally whilst minimising the stress on the wearer's joints. The incorporation of Fluidride® technology provides the ultimate combination of durability, bounceback and cushioning to the wearer, thereby improving comfort and reducing energy loss in the gait cycle through harnessing kinetic energy to provide a bounce in your step.

Asics High Abrasion Rubber (AHAR®) Outsole

AHAR® is strategically placed on the outsole to provide extra durability and traction in high stress areas. AHAR® provides superior traction and durability, as well as added comfort and a better ride, making the GEL-cumulus 18 a highly durable shoe that is suitable for daily use. The pattern on the outsole provides superior multi-directional traction, so you can rest assured that you will have the optimum grip on your run, no matter what the conditions. Durasponge® technology provides extra cushioning to the outsole, whilst also enhancing forefoot durability. Asics' Trusstic® System is added to reduce the weight of the outsole, without compromising the shoe's structural integrity or support.
