New FluidFit 2.0 Mesh Upper
The Nimbus 20 features a new FluidFit 2.0 mesh upper that adapts to the foot. The mesh allows air to fully permeate the entire upper sucking in cool, fresh air at the same time as pushing hot, muggy air out of the shoes. This process allows you to feel cool, dry and comfortable when out on long runs and also provides a much better climate for your feet to work in. Strategic overlays encase the upper providing ultimate support to the upper and provide a more tight fit reducing any unwanted slipping inside the shoes. Independently placed eyelets disperse lace tension, also contributing to the comfortable and customised fit of the Gel Nimbus 20. The asymmetrical lacing system unites with an exoskeletal heel counter to guarantee perfect comfort and fit, especially in the ankle and heel area. FluideRide, FlyteFoam And SpevaFoam Midsole
A ComforDry sockliner cradles the foot with breathable, moisture-wicking ease, preventing the development of the distracting clammy feeling and keeping you cool and motivated. Fluidride technology, a three-layered midsole construction, features a winning combination of cushioning and bounce-back characteristics. The midsole combination of the FluideRide, FlyteFoam and SpevaFoam results in comfort, durability and lightweight cushioning spanning the foot from heel to toe throughout the gait cycle and supplying energy packed bounce; reducing the superfluous use of muscle power and therefore diminishing fatigue, keeping you driven for longer.
FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA, and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run; so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer, without the worry that your shoes might not be able to take it. Sitting beneath the three-layered midsole platform and complimenting its bouncy nature, are the rearfoot and forefoot Gel Cushioning system. AHAR Outsole
A Trusstic System has been implemented to reduce the weight of the sole unit and link the forefoot and rearfoot; working alongside the Guidance Line technology to encourage a more consistent, directional gait. A Durasponge Outsole completes the Asics Gel Nimbus 20, supplying even more cushioning and durability. AHAR (Asics High Abrasion Resistant rubber) has been strategically placed in high-stress areas to supply excellent grip without compromising the shoe's permanence.
