ASICS Gel-Cumulus 21 Lite-Show Running Shoe
GEL-Cumulus offers premium technology and a refined design that offers optimal support and comfort for runners of all levels. A FlyteFoam midsole teams up with rearfoot and forefoot GEL cushioning for a smooth, lightweight ride that maintains full contact with the ground. It's jacquard mesh upper elevates the styling and forms to your foot for a fit that feels customised just for you.
Jacquard Mesh Upper
An updated upper makes the most of new technologies that have been developed by ASICS. The breathable jacquard mesh upper encases each foot in breathable comfort, allowing air to fully permeate the entire construction. This additionally provides a constant supply of fresh, cool air while simultaneously forcing out hot, muggy air. In addition, the jacquard mesh provides a glove-like fit that contours the shape of the foot to increase comfort and performance. Thicker material coverage over the toes and around the heel ensure that vulnerable areas of the shoes are well protected from scrapes and heavy impacts. Within the shoe, there is an EVA sockliner that also moulds to the foot shape, making the comfort personalised. The sockliner works hard to wick excess moisture and transfer it to the outer layer of the fabric where it can be easily evaporated, ensuring you stay cool, dry and comfortable. An internal TPR heel counter wraps around the heel of the foot, securing the heel in place to reduce in shoe slippage.
FlyteFoam Propel Midsole
From there ASICS play their ace card in lightweight cushioning: Flytefoam Propel. The third layer of protection, bounce and comfort' it provides you with unmatched shock absorption and a lively ride. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard, EVA and it buffers against the ground to protect you from unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every run, so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer without the worry your shoes might not be able to take it. Resilient and innovative, FlyteFoam Propel technology lets you run with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. FlyteFoam Propel as explained above has all the features and benefits that you already love about the innovative technology but brings together lightweight foam with high energy return elastomer for increased bounce and unrivalled toe-off, allowing you to get better performances out of every stride. A SpEVA 45 Foam insole resides underfoot to improve bounce-back characteristics and decrease midsole breakdown; the added cushion produces a soft feel and improved comfort for an even, uninterrupted ride.
As well as SpEVA the midsole offers Fluideride cushioning which is a two-layered midsole construction that offers a winning combination of cushioning and bounce-back. SpEVA is partnered with Solyte material with the fusion resulting in comfort, durability without sacrificing on weight. this system cushions the foot from heel to toe throughout the gait cycle and supplying energy packed bounce, reducing the superfluous use of muscle power and therefore diminishing fatigue, keeping you driven for longer. Aiding propulsion as well as torsional support is the Trusstic system that links the rearfoot to the forefoot, offering spring and stability. Lastly, the midsole boasts rearfoot and forefoot gel cushioning that works endlessly to absorb shock and impact forces that run through the body with every step.
AHAR Outsole
Supreme grip and traction are guaranteed with the AHAR outsole. ASICS' high abrasion rubber is a tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact or high wear areas which helps to cut down on excessive wear. As well as this it can create a strong bond with any ground beneath it, helping you stay in full control. Over the heel, there is an AHAR plug technology where the material is thicker and ultimately tougher, which is a particularly vulnerable area as it is the first ground contact point. A guidance line runs the length of the outsole means that energy is dispersed evenly when stretched, increasing stability.
