Berghaus Arkos Reflective Down Jacket
The perfect outer layer for the coldest of climates, the Berghaus Arkos Reflective Down Jacket provides intelligent heat distribution to ensure that you always feel comfortable, no matter how exposed you are too harsh winter conditions.
Designed to keep you warm in the harshest of conditions, the Arkos Reflective Down Jacket is packed with extremely effective insulating Hydrodown technology. This technology developed by Berghaus has been tested in some of the most extreme conditions around the globe. The goose down is extremely lightweight, but despite this its heat to weight ratio is extremely efficient, resulting in you feeling like you don't have any restrictions whatsoever. The down is also extremely compressible, making it easy for packing away when not in use. What makes Hydrodown different from standard down is that it is treated to keep you dry as well as warm. Every cluster of Hydrophobic Down undergoes innovative water-repellent treatment, so it absorbs significantly less water, keeping you dry and your kit light. The way that the down is specially treated will also mean that it won't collapse in on you when it is wet, retaining its shape over a long period of time, with a high loft to keep you warm. Unlike standard down, when wet the Hydrodown dries off extremely quickly, meaning that it will get back to retaining heat quickly. Tests show that it recovers 80 per cent of its loft, even after three minutes fully immersed in water, making it perfect in changeable conditions.
An additional technology that Berghaus have used in the Arkos Reflective Down Jacket is Hydroloft. This insulating technology is designed to improve the distribution of heat within the jacket, whilst also ensuring that the overall weight remains low. It is made from extremely fine fibres which mimic the construction of down. It creates small pockets of air that trap heat within, repelling cold air away. This means you can stay warm and comfortable without the restrictive bulk so that you can move freely and carry out your outdoor activities to your full potential. The technology is also designed to be mindful of overheating. The structure of Hydroloft combined with highly breathable fabrics allows excess body heat and moisture to pass quickly through the jacket, ensuring you have enhanced levels of comfort for active use. The synthetic fibres used in Hydroloft do not absorb moisture, and this combined with a durable and PFC free water-repellent treatment on the outside of the jacket means that the jacket can perform in the worst conditions. Working to ensure that the heat within the jacket is distributed evenly, the jacket has innovative body-mapping techniques which are designed by their award-winning MTNHAUS team. From testing and developing products with athletes, body heat is harnessed and distributed evenly down to the design of the jacket.
The full-zip down the front of the jacket is easily adjusted, making it easy to allow air in to cool you down, or to seal heat in by zipping it all the way up. A windproof flap and soft inner chin guard ensure that heat or comfort isn't compromised. The jacket has a full covering and lightweight hood that feels extremely comfortable, repelling water away and keeping your head warm. It has a stiffened peak and a single point, making sure that you can always see clearly ahead of you. Articulated sleeves enable you to make a wide range of upper body movements without any restriction whatsoever. Your arms will also be kept warm, as the jacket is constructed with inner stretch cuffs, that seal in heat and prevent cold winds from entering and causing discomfort. An adjustable dropped hem provides personalised comfort at the bottom of the jacket. Two zipped hand pockets provide you with a perfect place to store all your essential items securely. As well as this, the pockets are harness compatible allowing you to use the pockets whilst wearing a harness or pack; making the jacket versatile for a wide range of activities. Flat-lying seams within the jacket remove the risk of irritation caused by rubbing and chafing. The Arkos Reflective Down Jacket uses fabrics that are approved by bluesign, meaning that it uses sustainably sourced and produced materials.
