Hoka TenNine ATR Running Shoes
With never-seen-before midsole geometries and a new wider and innovative platform designed to maximise ground contact for a smoother, more stable and efficient cruise over challenging terrain and distances, the TenNine is designed to create a whole new downhill running experience. Combining HOKA's continuous learnings and improvements from technologies over the last 10 years, the TenNine represents a 'concept shoe' that is also designed to offer improved stability and grip, particularly on softer surfaces.
The TenNine originates from the term 'Giga physics', expressed by 10 to the power of 9, the TenNine is geared for runners who are attempting events up to and including the most gruelling of ultra races.
Mesh Upper
The upper of the Hoka TenNine ATR is constructed from lightweight, high abrasion-resistant mesh. This provides maximum protection to your feet whilst also promoting breathability. The mesh allows cool air to permeate the construction and hot air to escape, preventing an intolerable build-up of heat and creating the perfect environment for your feet to thrive in. The ariaprene tongue provides comfort, breathability and water management. It works to wick sweat and moisture away from the foot where it can be evaporated, leaving your feet feeling cool and dry. Internal tongue wings provide foot lockdown, for a secure yet comfortable fit, whilst the lycra vamp adjusts the fit to accommodate foot swelling over long distances. A heel collar pull tab provides extra support and comfort, and a traditional lacing system allows you to create the perfect fit.
Hubble Midsole
Boasting a heel extension with a geometry specifically designed to manage impact on the heel - which is often exaggerated on the downhill - the TenNine is designed to allow for a smoother transition to the midfoot, forefoot and toe-off. The stability in the midsole - the combination of the unique geometry and the Meta-Rocker technology - is also designed to remain, no matter the incline. Hubble geometry is used in the midsole of the TenNine and is designed to provide a stable, smooth ride. This innovative midsole geometry is built with an aerodynamic design that enables runners to capitalize on natural momentum like never before. The wider platform is designed to maximize ground contact and provide a stable ride. An early stage meta-rocker geometry provides a rockered midsole design, engineered to deliver a smooth ride and increased propulsion.
High Abrasion Rubber Outsole
The TenNine provides traction with a lugged outsole offering added durability and stability. When running it is imperative to have an assured footing, with difficult, unpredictable terrain often causing obstacles and challenges to your performance. The TenNine boasts a high abrasion rubber outsole, which delivers an abundance of grip and traction to help fill you with confidence as you take on dry or mild trails. Upon impact, the one of a kind extended heel helps to slow down your rate of deceleration for truly cloud-like landings on harsh descents. To improve stability and grip, the TenNine features an extremely wide base with tons of ground contact area.
