Single Layer Mesh Upper
Constructed using an engineered mesh, the Hoka Carbon X Running Shoe offers a comfortable fit and maximum breathability. The mesh actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave your feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance. Additionally, the mesh encourages cool air to circulate, creating a cooler, drier environment for your feet to thrive in. Embroidered reinforcements deliver a secure fit especially in the heel so you can continue with distraction-free strides. Completing the upper is a gusseted tongue which promotes mid-foot lockdown and reduces the risks of loose debris from entering inside the shoe.
Carbon Fibre Midsole
Designed using many midsole densities, the Carbon X ensures cushioning, comfort and most of all propulsion. Profly X which provide a soft, propulsive experience by protecting you during a heel strike and propelling you forward for a firm toe-off. A softer density has been used on the top to increase underfoot comfort and provide the perfect amount of resilience and response. Additionally, a bottom density works to increase energy return and ground contact for you can go further for longer with peace of mind that your footwear can take you anywhere. The bottom layer is also abrasion resistant and works to reduce the risks of wear and tear. Sandwiched between the different densities is a carbon fibre plate which curls under the lateral toes to deliver a smoother transition throughout the gait cycle. The carbon plate minimises energy loss, increases propulsion and deliver an abundance of structural support making running feel effortless and giving you the confidence to reach new PB's. The carbon plate helps to maintain the meta-rocker which lies underfoot and as a result, the two technologies work in tandem to amplify the rocker's benefits. The early-stage Meta-Rocker is applied in the midsole to increase running efficiency. Meta-Rocker midsole geometry is specifically designed with a low heel-toe differential and a sculpted outsole to create a unique fulcrum effect, like a rocking chair to encourage a guided gait cycle. This design supports a runner's natural form while promoting an efficient, smooth roll from initial impact to toe off.
Rubberised Foam Outsole
A flexible and durable outsole complete the Carbon X. Rubberised foam is used to enhance responsiveness, increases traction and ensure high rebound cushioning. The foam outsole ensures lightweight responsiveness so you can go further for longer which a shoe you can truly rely on. The durable rubber outsole will keep you in firm control across a wide range of different terrain over a long period of time. Forming a solid bond with the ground, the outsole will anchor you into place, keeping you in a strong and controlled position. The Cabon X's sole also helps to eliminate excess rubber on the outsole which in turn reduces overall weight.
